The winner of the giveaway is announced at the end. To pick up the tour where I left off in my last post, I thought we’d move on into the kitchen. Last year I decorated the tops of the cabinets, but just wasn’t in the mood to be climbing up and down the ladder this year. In keeping with my simple decorating this year, I kept things mostly at eye level.
A Rosemary tree from the local grocery store in a soup tureen for the counter, tied with some Christmas ribbons.
My whites cabinet gets a few green bottlebrush trees and a little greenery. It’s too cramped in here to do much else!
I’ve got an empty spot in the top right corner ~ that was the tureen that the Rosemary tree sits in. I showed you recently how a Goodwill find filled that spot.
Some larger faux greenery and a candy cane tucked into a pitcher {that changes throughout the year/season with its filler}.
Over the microwave I hung an extra candle wreath, stuck a wood piece with a Christmas text and some extra poinsettia garland that I had.
That’s all I did in the kitchen this year.
Moving into the master bedroom, this is where I put our second small tree.
I used a party dress that I found at Goodwill a couple of years ago when I was looking to do a decorator table slipcover for my granddaughter’s nursery. This was one that was in the running.
It covered the table perfectly and I left the bodice intact, just tucked under. I thought the sash bow was a nice touch for Christmas décor.
I redid this tree this year, so when it came down from the attic, I removed the decorations that were on it. I went with a more neutral and natural theme this year.
Burlap garland drapes the tree and I got a few new ornaments. The angel wings are from Dawn at The Feathered Nest.
The tin mold hearts are from Celestina Marie.
The ornament shaped die cuts are from Remnants Globe on Etsy.
I made the peat pot baskets after I saw Dawn’s and found I had four peat pots sitting on my craft room shelf.
Some pleated ribbon and tulle trim, a bit of sparkly tulle tucked inside, some bling, and some crinkled seam binding as the hanger.
I painted them with Vintage White craft paint ~ just one coat to give it that whitewashed look.
A nature Christmas fairy sits at the base of the tree.
My little bottlebrush trees that I bleached last year made a comeback in their mini cloches.
And I framed a Christmas card from last year for the dresser.
Over the bed, I added a grapevine garland to the bed crown.
And a small wreath to the headboard.
A few night time shots.
I think this was just enough decoration for me this year.
The winner, via random.org, of my 5 year blogaversary giveaway is #5 ~ Marty at A Stroll Thru Life! Thanks to everyone who entered!
