Being stuck in the house for several days with freezing temps and icy roads, I decided to change up a few of the vignettes around the house. I started with the coffee table and, using a silver tray as my base, added a red floral arrangement in a mercury glass vase, a boxwood ball, some moss balls in a cloche, and a little crowned bird.
I moved over to the two side tables and mainly just took some things away. I was going for a more simple look.
Into the dining room and I added some paper covered books. I also added a small pedestal I put together using a wood round picked up at an estate sale this Summer and a short candle holder found at Goodwill. I painted both of them in Old White chalk paint.
Back in the living room, I put two nests on the mantel sitting on top of two candleholders.
I usually leave the candleholders and just change out what I sit on them.
Nothing major but it gave me something to do and something new to look at!
Very cute ideas! I'm doing the same. This winter is a tough one and I'm indoors a lot. I love to fuss around like this too. Is that an angled corner curio cabinet with a rounded front? I have one do those too! It's currently in storage but I'm trying to figure a spot for it back upstairs.
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks gorgeous. I love it all . I love the candle holders with the nest on them. GIRL I might have to go home and do that to one of mine. I love that you took time to revamp during the cold . Hugs and have a blessed weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love the tea cups in the cloche. I love the moss balls too.
ReplyDeleteOh wow! All so pretty! I love the pitcher and bowl. My mama used to collect them and I have several of hers and some of my own. Your such a great interior designer!
ReplyDeleteThe nests look very pretty there. Someone's ready for spring, eh? Me too!

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, Love your changes. Everything looks so inviting in your home. I did the same thing after Christmas. It's that time of year when I get the bug to change the décor and simplify a bit. Love your coffee table display and the mantel with the nests.
ReplyDeleteHope it warms up soon.
Have a nice weekend.
Hugs
Kathy, I love your changes! The crowned bird is adorable and the silver tray anchors this vignette so well. The dining room vignette is so pretty. You have given me some great ideas to add to my cloches. I love the cups and saucers, covered books and creamer! You have chosen so many lovely items.
ReplyDeleteYour vignettes are lovely, Kathy...a perfect way to spend a winter's day indoors!
ReplyDeletePretty changes Kathy! Love the nests on the candlesticks.
ReplyDeleteI spent tonight changing up vignettes around the house. I am not sure about some, but I am going to go with it for a few days.
ReplyDeleteAll your vignettes are wonderful and you gave me a couple of ideas. I have a new mini cloche that I want to use, but I have to be aware of the kids (both adults) chasing the puppy around the house and the things they bump into. I also have a tall candlestick that I left holding nothing. After looking at your vignettes, I think I have more work to do.
ReplyDeletewow Kathy, you made so many area look new and fresh. I bet it feels like a different room when you sit in there.. very pretty indeed~!
hugs
Sonny

ReplyDeleteHi, Kathy. Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my Tartan post. Funny, I went to Catholic school too, and wore the uniforms, but they never bothered me, and in fact had never thought of a connection to my love of plaids!
ReplyDeleteI'd seen this darling transformation post on my phone, but it's harder to comment there, so here I am, enjoying it again. It's amazing what a break a little "puttering" will provide! I hope you're having some sun today--we are, and it's very, very welcome. Your vingettes sure are pretty! ~Zuni
