I am so pleased to show you the reveal of our master bedroom with its new paint job. Let me just say, I love, love, love the color we chose for the walls! It is SW Relaxed Khaki (color matched : Lowe’s Valspar Reserve paint). It is still neutral but a little darker than the beige that was originally on the walls. Here is a “before” picture.
I think the coloring of the bed frame and the Duck Egg color of the furniture really “pops” off this color, as well as the gold in the frames.
Everything was hung back up on the walls pretty much where it was prior to painting except for my Hotel de Paris sign. I decided not to put the Ballard Design copycat shadowboxes I made back up over the bed and moved the Hotel de Paris sign down more. I like it much better this way! I will use the shadow box pictures elsewhere.
All the trim and the doors got a fresh coat of white paint as well, and I really love the “classic” look of the wall color with the white trim.
I’m glad we got to give this room a much needed fresh coat of paint. It doesn’t look like much of a difference in the pictures, but in person it is a “just right” difference.
Your room is beautiful, Kathy. I really like the paint color and the decor. Looks romantic. :)

ReplyDeleteYour bedroom looks beautiful, Kathy. I will check out that SW color as we're considering some color changes here in the future. We love Valspar reserve, as well.

It is ever so pretty, and I love the color too. What Duck Egg blue paint did you use, it's so pretty. I like the sign alone above the bug, you know less distractions! You really did a good job, I have 3 rooms to paint, but I can't figure out a color...I am so bad, I just freeze!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Kathy! I love the colors in this room...everything goes together so beautifully!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty. I want to paint our bedroom now.
ReplyDeleteFresh paint and this lovely neutral color really do enhance your design elements. Creative Khaki Bliss...
ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty, Kathy, and welcoming...a lovely sanctuary for you! I sooo need a master makeover! My master bath is spot on, but the master is quite lack luster! Mehhh!

Hi Kathy, IT IS GORGEOUS!! I love how the aqua looks against this background. Your wall displays are beautiful too.
ReplyDeleteI have a very similar color in our master and using aqua as my spring and summer accent color.
Love your aqua frame and the dresser is stunning.
Hugs, CM
So pretty, Kathy!! We actually have the same colors going in our master bedrooms! We have a very similar SW color. I can't remember what it's called, but it's also a darker "beige/taupe" that I think is perfect with white trim, and we have teals in our bedroom linens, though the furniture is stained/dark. But the teals and taupes/neautrals are there, and the white trim! Glad to see your post! ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteI love your "new" room. The colors are warm and inviting. We have a similar color but I know that a touch up of the trim and a few touches would make a big difference. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteYour room is really lovely, Kathy! I know what you mean about changing the paint color. Sometimes it's all a room needs to shake things up a bit. I see you have my favorite flowers, too:)

ReplyDeleteI love the paint and the duck egg blue is perfect....I'm starting to like blue...Oh don't tell anyone...Everyone thinks I'm a pink person. That mirror is GORGEOUS!

Finding the right paint color can make all the difference. The room looks beautiful. I have always loved the dresser you painted duck egg blue.
ReplyDeleteLove the color you went with you use so many different accent colors. The frame does really pop.
ReplyDeleteCindy
You're right Kathy. It's just the right amount of change and it really does make the frame pop. And I agree that the sign looks great too. It has more presence now that it's not flanked by the shadow boxes.
ReplyDeletevery pretty--love the blues, with the wall paint, kathy!
