Every year there is a Designer Showhouse in the Hamptons. Sometimes the rooms are just gorgeous and other times you have to scratch your head and wonder, "what the hell were they thinking!?!". Either way, I love looking at the pictures to see what the designers and decorators have done. This is just a small sampling, Newsday has about 61 pictures of this house, so if you want to see more, click on the link.
So what if you can't afford the $9 million asking price! There are so many things going on in this house, that you could copy on a budget, it's not even funny!
Here is this year's house:

Kathy, I had been thinking of going, but now I definitely will. Will pick an off-day since the traffic from East Hampton to Water Mill and back can be horrendous at this time of year. I love everything I saw EXCEPT that zebra head. I totally agree with you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these. I'm with you on the zebra. Love the punch of orange in the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI agree Donna; if I decide to go I will take a day off and go on a weekday. I'd like to see some of these items in person.
ReplyDeleteThey did some real nice rooms this year, Amy. I would love to get some time to go out that way and see the house.
It would be great to have a home office like the one featured!! It appears to be roughly the size of my house ;-) BTW, still waiting on the rug, but it apparently shipped today. It will be good if it arrives while it is still flip flop time :D
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge home office, Carma! While it is nice, I think that would be a little too big for me.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear it is taking so long for you to get the rug. I'm with you, I do hope you get it while it is still flip flop season!
