Blog Of The Week ~ Guildcraft Rugs

This week's blog is Guildcraft Rugs and Tracy Davis is the woman behind this very interesting and educational site all about rugs. There is even a video entitled "Making Our Carpets"!
Tracy Davis of Guildcraft Rugs

Here is just a bit from the site:

"We produce handmade artisan carpets for architects and designers, as well as design collections for private label by other companies. With weaving workshops in three countries, we can tailor materials and technique to the aesthetic and technical requirements of each designer’s creative vision."
I grabbed a few images of Guildcraft rugs from the site to share with you. The colors are fantastic!

There are also some great pictures of room settings with these carpets, as well as a FAQ section. Please head over to Guildcraft Rugs and take a look at Tracy's site, the eye candy is delicious!

  3. Kathy, thanks for stopping by, I saw your note on the bookcase & yes, I do have a whole post on that room, with the bookcase. Here's the beachy guestroom I did last fall:

I also have a post showing how I redid the bookcase, but I would have to look for that one. All my links inside my posts will have to be redone, since I moved my blog & they aren't valid anymore, so I'll be working on those as I can. Thanks!

  5. Tracy sometimes posts a link on Twitter with them, Will, and I liked seeing the room settings - I think you get a better feel for how a rug works in a room that way.

  7. Kathy,
Wanted to stop by and say hello. Tracy has some amazing rugs. The ones you selected to show us almost look like mosaic tile work. Just beautiful, thanks for introducing us. Also wanted to say how much I truly appreciate your visits. You have such a wonderful blog. I always learn something new when I stop by. I look forward to twittering with you too!

  8. Kathy,
These are real beauties. I lived in the Dubai for 4 1/2 years and got interested in carpets during that time. I had a door to door carpet salesman who wore a purple gown and headdress from Yemen I bought a few from him. It makes me smile to remember, he was like the Cat in the Hat!

  11. I don't blame you for wanting to showcase Tracy and Guildcraft rugs as your blog of the week... those rugs are beautiful!!

I laughed when I read your comment to me about choosing a colour to paint my nesting tables... I actually used the exterior paint I purchased to paint my front door with! I was sitting here thinking about how I really, really wanted to paint them... but what colour?? Then it came to me! I was torn about using the paint I'd purchased for the door (yet to be painted)... but I was motivated. AND, but that time, I was positive that the barn-red was the perfect colour choice!
It's funny how inspiration comes to us, hey?

    Hope you're well!

  12. You should see the others on her site, HeathahLee - I didn't want to put too many in the post, but it was hard to choose just a few!

  13. Well, thank you, Lisa! Very kind of you to come by and comment on my blog. I think these rugs are beautiful and I love all the colors in Tracy's rugs.

I recall your saying you lived in Dubai - that must have been interesting to have a carpet salesman come to your home. I would think it would be harder not to buy something with it basically right at your front door.

  14. Thanks for visiting, Amanda - I enjoy your blog! I'm a big fan of area rugs, myself, so it was a pleasure to look through Tracy's.

Laura ~ Tracy is so good about educating people about them as well. I know on Twitter she will post info to pique your interest.

Victoria ~ Thanks for checking out Tracy's blog! Good decision then on the paint for your tables! I have a hard time if I am going to paint furniture, choosing the color. I go back and forth before I finally settle, so good for you! They look great!

  15. I'm finally getting around to commenting, and it's gratifying to read such nice feedback about our carpets. (I wish you could get the full tactile effect on the web. When we do consumer trade shows, inevitably some little toddler will throw themselves down on the carpet and roll around because they're so plush and soft!)

Kathy, thanks again for featuring our blog. You do an excellent job of pulling a lot of elements together to make some interesting reading and great eye candy. Glad we made the cut.
