I came across this very talented young woman, Julie Beck, on Twitter. Her blog title "Paintings in Progress" is very apt.
Julie's "Awake" painting was chosen for one of the months for the Aquent 2010 Calendar!
And here she is at work:
Julie also has an Etsy shop where she sells some of her pieces. These are just two of the pieces she is selling.
I think you will enjoy looking through, not only Julie's blog, but her Etsy shop as well.
Great post! I love finding new artists, and Julie seems extremely talented!
ReplyDeleteOMG, that clock is a PAINTING?! It looks like a photograph!! And the keys too. WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know about Julie -- I'll definitely be checking out her blog and her Etsy store.
And on a related topic... I think your dad's artwork on cushions would be awesome!! Isn't the concept behind Fabric on Demand great?? And Rysa (she's the owner) is a real sweetheart :-)
In case you missed it, I asked Rysa about the minimum yardage required for an order -- it's one (1) yard.

I was very taken by her work, Christine. Her blog posts show the detail she puts into her art. As a non-artistic person, I find it fascinating!
ReplyDeleteYes, right! One of her posts has a harmonica with cherries - the real thing and the painting next to it. Fantastic! Thank you for finding that out Kelly. I did do some surfing around their site and wound up seeing they would do 1 yard. Now I have to try to get a picture of his pictures without him knowing!
Amazing work - hard to tell the difference between the two - is it live or is it memorex???
ReplyDeleteI love the one entitled "Awake" - it would look lovely in a breakfast nook somewhere.
I love art, she is good. As for my post, it is a room in a kip bay showhouse, so it has been everywhere. I just had to shake my head though... thanks for playing.
ReplyDeleteKathy,
ReplyDeleteI can’t get over how realistic Julie’s paintings are, they are truly amazing! I love discovering talented people like this, thank you for sharing this wonderful treasure.

What's amazing Donna is that I remember that tag line for Memorex! She has quite a few things I like in her shop too.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the Kips Bay rooms have been in so many magazines; I knew I saw it before.
I love finding and sharing such talented people, Cathy! I don't know a lot about art, but I do know what I like ~ I do like Julie's work for sure.
ReplyDeleteHi Alaura, thanks for coming by! I'm glad you enjoyed looking at Julie's work too.
Her paintings look so wonderful! I came over to say thank you for the lovely comments on my bunny!!! I truly do appreciate when someone takes time to pop in and say hello!
