Madoff's Montauk House
The Montauk house of Bernie and Ruth Madoff is up for sale by Federal authorities, along with its contents. I was surprised to see that the only really fabulous thing about this house is the view. Of course, it's not fully decorated and doesn't have a lived in look, but what do you think?

Wow...the view is beautiful. But your right it doesn't have much else going for it. My first impression was that it's cold...just like Madoff.
ReplyDeleteI guess you could say it has "potential", Jane; but that's a lot of money to put out for "potential". Maybe the authorities should stage this baby.
ReplyDeleteActually, I think the house has a lot of potential. Look at all those amazing windows!! Love the view, and the deck and pool are fabulous. And the circular dining room, and the angled ceilings, and the ceiling beams, and the wood floors, and the stone fireplace...
ReplyDeleteI think it could be a spectacular house with the right furnishings and paint colours. Not so sure it's worth $8 million, though!!

I'm sure the 8 million is for the view, Kelly! You are right though, there is potential there for the right person. I just expected something a bit fancier.
