Thanks to Manuela at the Pleasures of Homemaking, I visited Kmart online today, because I loved her Country Living collection dishes. While I love Manuela's red dishes and accessories, I was more interested in this series of the Country Living collection:
Salad plate
I just fell in love with this pattern and am a fan of the "faded" look. You can't see it on the dinner plate, but there is a nice little pattern on the edge along with the brown band.
Dinner plate
Love the idea of using this bowl for serving vegetables. A platter would be a lovely addition to this collection, too.
Bowl
You wouldn't believe the price ~ $38.00! 4-salad plates; 4-dinner plates; and 1 bowl! I may even be able to interchange this out with the dishes I got on clearance from Pier 1 a month or so ago {although I only purchased 2 table settings of those dishes}.
My Pier 1 plates
What a great buy for someone just starting out on their own or newlyweds' everyday dishes.
Although this isn't a tablescape, I'm hooking this post up with Tablescape Thursday at Between Naps On The Porch. Can't wait to set my table with these and share them as a real tablescape!

Also hooking up with Frugalicious Friday at Finding Fabulous.
Great find, Kathy! It will be fun to see how you use them...

ReplyDeleteKathy those lovely dishes from
ReplyDeleteK-Mart are just so beautiful! Love the pretty pattern and design around the edge. I'm getting that itch for more dishes again...LOL! Thanks for sharing the source.
~Blessings, ~Melissa :)
So pretty. Can't wait to see how you dress it up. And I adore your Pier 1 set too.
ReplyDeleteI love those dishes - such a good find!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea...I am far from stores so I need to find online solutions. I do like the Pier 1 dishes, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the preview, it will be fun to see how you use them.
ReplyDeleteSue
What a great price on the dinnerware, I really love the dinner plate. I am off to see what I can find -
ReplyDeleteChelsea
Wow, I never knew that kmart had such lovely dishes - they look like antiques !
ReplyDeleteKammy
Kathy,You have some really great finds, I can't wait to see tham in a tablescape.
ReplyDeleteSandy
I can't wait to get them, PK. I'm really looking forward to setting them up.
ReplyDeleteKim ~ Pier 1 has such nice things at fairly reasonable prices for setting up a whole table. I love how everything is in one area so you can just go along and get napkins, placemats, glasses, etc.
I really couldn't believe it was so reasonable in price, Rettabug. I'm looking forward to playing around with them!
I really fell in love with them, Susan. I think they will work out well to interchange with other dishes and get a different look.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha!
Thank you, Melissa! I am glad that Manuela shared the source in her post; otherwise I never would have seen these.
Thank you, Vitania! I'm curious to see if they will work with the Pier 1 dishes.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Laurel! I was really pleased and even happier that they were available.
Nancy ~ I'm always so glad to find things like this online. Sometimes you can only find things in the store. If I can order it online {with reasonable shipping} I prefer to go that route.
Thanks, Sue!
ReplyDeleteIf you go to the website, Chelsea, you can get a good close-up view of the dinner plate. It's very subtle, but if you use this salad plate I think it's all you need.
I didn't either, Kammy! I'm so glad Manuela mentioned it in her post.
Thanks, Sandy! Me, too! I'm sure I'll be fooling around with it as soon as they arrive.
Great tip from Manuela. Your version of the dishes are beautiful and your Pier 1's should mix nicely. Great finds.
ReplyDeleteI love what Manuela came up with. We don't have a K-mart any longer. But I'll be checking all this out online!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
What fun and whimsical plates from Pier 1! Come visit as I have a giveaway today!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, those are beautiful! That's the brown collection I mentioned in my post. I wanted to buy them too. You'll love them - they're perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Hee...I came over to look at your header (from color me happy)...and stayed for your tablescape...nice job!
ReplyDeleteI can see it's been too long since I went to Pier 1! Great find.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find!! I do a lot of online shopping also since we're not very close to any large stores except Walmart and KMart. There are hundreds of antique shops but they tend to be way overpriced in this tourist area.
ReplyDeleteOh, those are really pretty plates that you will be able to do lots with.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous find. All of the dishes are so lovely and will be wonderful to coordinate with so many things. I look forward to future tablescapes. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how you use your new dishes...They are lovely. Isn't it just awesome how dishes make you feel? I just love them. I think I need to go to Kmart.com...:)
ReplyDelete~Liz
Totally creative table setting, I love mixing and matching!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to it all coming together! That's the fn of starting out everything is new new new! Good luck and have a great week! Sherri
ReplyDeleteI had no idea Kmart had Country Living. You did good! All of it is great but I am loving the dinner plates! We don't have a Kmart for 100's of miles but I'll have to check online to see what else they've been keeping a secret.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mrs. G! I love when people share where they've purchased something. Unfortunately, then I go buy it!
ReplyDeleteBrenda ~ Manuela's set is lovely, and I am so glad that they were offered online {and not just an in-store purchase}.
@honeysuckle ~ Thank you!
Hi Manuela! I figured they were the ones you mentioned and I don't know if I would have looked on the site if you hadn't mentioned brown.
ReplyDeleteLinda ~ Ha! Hey, whatever it takes to get you over here.
They are switching things up again, Maureen! They have some of the nicest furniture pieces that I have seen in the store just over the past few months.
I've been surprised at what I have been finding at Walmart and Kmart, Anita! I try to include them when I'm searching for something now, because you never know, and I'm not one to turn my nose up at a good price.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mimi! I hope to share that too.
Thank you, Marty! I'm going to see just how many I can get out of these two sets. Should be fun!
Liz ~ I know, right. It's such a simple thing, too, yet I was thrilled!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maria! I'd like to see how I can get a few settings out of this.
Sherri ~ I can't wait to play around with this. Hopefully, it will be a sunny day when I do so I can get some good pictures as I go along.
Apparently, this is new Norma. I heard about the Country Living bedding at Sears but didn't realize there was more than that.
So pretty ! You have a great eye.
ReplyDeleteGuess what? You lucky girl. You won one of the $50 dollar gift certificates to CabinetKnob.com in the giveaway!
I simply CANNOT wait to see what you create with your win.
Congratulations
Kate
Love these dishes, they are so fun! Mixing and matching dishes is one of my favorite things! And what a great idea to goto Kmart on-line...I've never even thought to do that!
ReplyDeleteJane @ Finding Fabulous
Thanks so much, Kate! You can be sure that I will share whatever I wind up doing!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! I actually don't think I have a Kmart around, so I figured I'd check online. I'm looking forward to getting these ~ should have them Monday or Tuesday, just in time for this coming week's Tablescape Thursday!
