A Current Client’s Windows ~ The Master Bath

While I am a big fan of custom window treatments, I understand that they can be expensive for some. I am all about working within my client’s budget and if custom window treatments are not in that budget, I will look to ready-made {or store bought}.

Such was the case with these clients. They are newlyweds and are in their first home. They were left with some blinds and shades in certain rooms, but the rooms that I am helping them with needed a little bit of warmth brought to the windows. The master bathroom pictured above is one room. This bathroom is HUGE and the dark stained wood vanity and mirrors help to bring some warmth into the room.

We decided to just go with valances in this bathroom and bring in some of the colors that they already had going on in the room with their towels.

I would love the opportunity to accessorize this bathroom!

Above is a close-up of the valance. Not bad for store bought! Love the trim; love the fabrics! {JC Penney, in case you’re wondering}.

I’ll be sharing the living room next.

  1. Those made a big difference. I am with you on custom curtains. Store bought ones always look store bought...well, unless you go high end. Anyway, since I can't afford custom or high end, I learned to sew. Great solution.

Thanks for the advice on the color. It is very helpful after all. :)

  3. I love the trim on these. I just went with my mom to the JC Penny hone store near us. She bought some BEAUTIFUL pillows that were on sale priced so low, I could not have made them myself cheaper. Great job, your client must be pleased!

  4. Isn't it amazing how much variety JC Penney has these days. I go there for clients before I go to BB&Beyond.

I love the pattern you chose. Very pretty.

  5. They look rich and sophisticated. How fun to get to help others decorate and get paid to do it! My dream job :). Looking forward to seeing more rooms.

  7. That looks great, Kathy! I really love the fabric print. I've mentioned before here that I'm a valance/cornice person. There are definitely a lot of lovely ready-made treatments out there these days.

I'm sure your clients are super happy!
    Thanks for sharing.

  14. Kathy, one more thing. Have you seen the post by Three Men and A Lady. She gives great ideas for people who want white slipcovers. You may have read it already but, she says to take them out of the dryer just before they're completly dry. (still slightly damp) She says they won't fit if you let them dry all the way. She says strech them over the piece and let them finish drying to fit again.
I didn't know this. Hope it helps.
