Show Us Your Snow

Some may look at snow as Mother Nature's way of decorating the out-of-doors for Christmas. However, when it comes to snow, I say "Bah!". Sure, it's pretty to look at. From inside the house. Not so pretty when you are outside trying to clear it or drive in it.

Since so many people were in the line of this blizzard, I thought it would be nice to see everyone's pictures and set up a linky below. Here are mine ~ taken through glass and screen, in some cases.

Back yard and patio area.

More back yard.

Front ~ living room window.

Also from living room window. This is where the drifts are the worst.

From front door.

View from great room.

Hubby clearing driveway with the monster snow blower. He was waiting until 8:30 to start because he didn't want to disturb the neighbors. Only one problem . . . he has to go to work. He is in retail and with this being the last weekend before Christmas there is no snow day for him.

Look at how high! And I heard this morning we may have 30 inches when all is said and done!

So link up your snowy weekend pics! Let's see what you got!

  1. Kathy - I seriously love this.. I know it's not fun, because you can't sit inside and drink cocoa by the fire all day long.. but, it is beautiful. When I was a kid i coudn't wait to get out and jump in it, and now, i can't wait to ski in it.. although Ontario isn't known for it's great slopes... we have hills...:-( and I have hardly gone since our babies arrived 3 years ago.. Our storm will be here on Christmas Eve, so I will try to remember to post..:-)

  2. Kathy,
Now that is a lot of snow!!! I've been watching the news and seeing all the snow back east. No snow here in the midwest (at least in Kansas City). Some snow is forecasted for later this week...maybe we'll have a White Christmas I just hate to see it interfere with everyone's travel plans.
    Happy Holidays.

  3. Living in the northeast for most of my life, I have seen many a snow storm. It makes everyone slow down and enjoy life at an easier pace. You spend the day with your kids, help out your neighbors and just marvel at the beauty and quiet. There is something so special about going for a walk in the new fallen snow. So enjoy!

  4. We are in Ohio and didn't get the big Eastern snowstorm, so no pictures to share. We did get a light dusting last night, but not enough to completely cover anything.
I agree with you completely about the snow, and I know Ohio will get hit in January, February, and (usually) March.

  6. Wow! It IS beautiful, but I have to admit I'm glad we're not part of the storm. I'm sure we'll probably get some pretty good ones this winter though - we usually do. Right now only about 4" on the ground. Stay warm and safe and enjoy it from INSIDE!

  12. So beautiful! I love the way it looks on the trees! We NEVER get snow in South Texas, but we got a little dusting about 3 weeks ago. Enough to make a very tiny snowman! Kids loved it!

  17. Hi Kathy,
This is a nice idea of linking the snow pictures! I have not had the time yet to take pictures! Maybe I will do that this afternoon!

  18. I just love the snow. I even like to shovel it. Call me crazy! I was out in the "blizzard" Saturday night with all my boys playing in it, throwing the football, tackling each other. Yesterday I spent a couple hours shoveling the front walk, a path to my bird feeders, the deck. I'll link up my pics too. This is fun seeing other's places flocked in shimmery snow.
