Using Home Grown Greenery

Remember when I transformed this pot for Fall?

Well, I transformed it again for Christmas! Everything you see here I got from my backyard. I cut some tree branches and spray painted them white.

Some branches from a very large pine tree in our yard; an evergreen bush with some interesting leaves; a ground cover bush with some red berries on it and my painted white branches.

Lots of nice shades of green with different shapes and textures. I love it!

And yet, I feel it's missing a little something . . .

There we go! I used some plastic ornaments from the dollar store in red and silver.

Linking up to DIY Day at A Soft Place to Land.

  1. I love it! The bulbs add just the right finishing touch. I want to do something like this to my barren front porch, but it's so windy up there I'm afraid it will all blow away. Maybe I'll put a brick in the bottom of the planter?

  4. That looks fab, Kathy. I love the look of mixed fresh greens all combined together. And the bit of color from the ornaments add just the right little something. I just went "foraging" around my yard yesterday for my outdoor greenery decor. Isn't it fun?!

Did you get some snow this past weekend?

  5. Kathy,
That looks great! I love the fact that you were able to use everything out of your own yard. Very creative with beautiful results.

  13. Kathy~Each transformation makes it look like an entire new pot. Both so beautiful and festive.

I'm going to use your menu template for our Christmas Buffet.
I let my lil' family pick what they'd like for dinner. This year they voted(unanimously)for a Mexican buffet, with an ALL home cooked menu.

I haven't been able to post since my computer is having problems. First the camera now this. I will be back soon...hopefully.

    Sweet holiday wishes,

  18. Kathy...the pot looks beautiful. At first I thought you were going to turn the white pumpkins into a snowman. But you probably already have a real one in your front yard.
