Clearance Aisle Finds!

I went to Michaels to get some new scrapbook papers and a few other things for some projects I want to do {all projects I’ve been inspired by from all you crafty bloggers}.

I really had no intention of going near the Christmas clearance aisles, but like a bad accident, you can’t help but look!  I didn’t go too crazy but found several things that I know I will use next Christmas.  I decided to just look at those items that were 50% off or better and this is what I found.

I love these tins and couldn’t resist getting the snowman ones.  These are great for some of those odd shaped little gifts that don’t fit a standard box, or you could just use them for what they were labeled as ~ cookie tins.  These were $.53 each for the larger size and the small one was $.30.

I couldn’t get enough of these “To, From” tags.  I love the dimensional ones and they are so, so cute!  I bought several packages of these for $.33 each.

This Mary Englebright ornament of an elf, which made me think ahead to the Peppermint candy type theme I want to do in my kitchen next Christmas, was $1.49.  I saw this done by Phyllis at Around The House blog and just loved it so much.  {Loved it, Phyllis!}

Finally, I got this little red pot with a lime green Christmas tree design for $1.00.  Love it! I could probably come up with a lot of options of what to put in it.

A different evening’s trip to Tuesday Morning netted me this solid crown for $7.00.  This piece is quite heavy and, although you can’t see it in the picture, it has a hanger on it ~ it’s a stocking holder!  I’ll be removing that portion and think I’ll be painting this lovely piece Heirloom White with some glaze.

  6. I LOVE sales! Sometimes it's hard to spend money on something I'm going to put away for a year, but next Christmas you will be so happy you did! The crown will be wonderful when you have worked your magic I am sure.
    Thanks for coming by for a visit and have a great weekend!

  7. You found some great deals...love your choices. I chuckled at your analogy about the bad accident and how you cannot help but look..isn't it sad that we have some 'human' tendencies. You made the right choice by turning down those clearance asiles and don't let anyone tell you differantly.

    It's always fun to find Christmas goodies later that are almost free!
    Those will come in handy to fill with cookies. I just never make it to TuesAm anymore, but love the crown stocking holder.

  16. It's hard to stay away from those after season bargains, isn't it. You snagged some good stuff at great prices.

    Blogging is funny . . . I mean how we think of the people we "communicate" with in blogland. I was at JoAnn's the other day, and in the home dec section they had a crown, and I thought of you! Funny, right? I had remembered your post a while back about wanting that crown from TM (I think it was on sale too, but don't remember the price.). Anyway, just thought I'd share that! :o)
