Hi Kathy! I'm snowed in too in WV but I didn't accomplish anything this great! Love it and your blog!!! Have fun and I hope the marriage survives!lol Sincerely, Jeannette
Looks great so far! I was able to paint the little chalkboard table's legs white last night. It looks sooooo adorable now. I'll try to post it over the weekend!
Snowed in as well... sigh DC UGH! Thats funny marriage in tact! Husband and I are ready to toss each other off the balcony hahaha I wish I had a project to work on.. What was I thinking? I shouldve hit up the Good Will immediately after the grocery store! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Hi Kathy! That table is looking good and I can't think of anyting better to do on a snowy day. All it needs now is a fleur-de-lis thingee. LOL Get hubby to help you for some good old togetherness. Yeah, right.
I love chunky tables. It's going to look so good when you are done! I also have to tell you I LOVE that crown that you painted white. It's to die for!!
Hi Kathy, Oooo, I love the way it's turning out. You asked about the gel stain on oak cabinets. I think it would work beautifully. It's one of those things you have to work fast though. If you're doing a table/chair, or something with lots of little areas and legs, you can get into trouble with it becoming sticky fast. I think if you had some mineral spirits on hand to thin as you go, would be helpful. So if you're doing the armoire, put a lot on at once and drag it fast, from top to bottom, before it starts to thicken up. Tap it into the top and bottom cracks/seams and start dragging the whole length. Then maybe dip the brush into the thinner and keep going. Does that help? I hope so. Just remember it starts thickening fast! You can't be interupted at all! Let me know if you have any more questions. Kelly
Ha Ha~totally can relate to the marriage comment. I've got a coffee table that i'm waiting to paint also. Haven't even attempted it because it's too cold outside and HE would die if I did it on the carpet! Funny!
Oooh Kathy I love the black!!! I bet it looks fabulous!!! I've been thinking of painting a chair in my front room black. I just can't make the commitment yet!!!
Stay warm and have a great weekend! Karen My Desert Cottage
What's with all the snow everywhere? We got more of the white stuff last night also.
Kathy, I was looking at your project and how it appears to be something you tackled inside your home. If I attempted a project like that inside right now, I would have more than just a table painted! My miniature assistant would make sure of it. LOL
