Let me preface this by saying I had no choice. My hands were tied and I was manipulated into doing this. This was not a frugal nor a thrifty purchase, but it had to be done.
Last night I bought this chair from Pier 1. It is their Sigourney chair.
I fell in love with this chair when I first saw it. It was $499.00. It then went on clearance for $399.00 {yeah, I know; I don’t consider that clearance either}. I was going to wait until the price came down a bit more and then go for it.
But ~ I got one of those Pier 1 sale emails Thursday. I went into the Pier 1 website and, while there thought, “let me see if the price on that chair has come down any”. I could not find the chair online. I refreshed the screen and tried again. No Sigourney chair was coming up! It was gone! Panic set in!
I stopped in at my closest Pier 1 late yesterday afternoon and can you believe it, “I just put our last one on hold for someone else a half hour ago”. A half hour! I missed it by a half hour! No. Not good.
Since we planned to go out to dinner near the next closest Pier 1, I called ahead to see if they still had one. They did! One left. On the floor. Did I want to put it on “Hold”? Yes!!! Yes, put it on “Hold”!
While there is a part of me feeling a bit of self-loathing for caving and buying it at the “clearance” price, there was no waiting for it to come down any further in price. I had to do it. I love this chair!
That is one amazing chair!!! I love it! :)
