Debra at The Bungalow is having a Parade of Bedrooms Party and I’m joining in with some pictures of my master bedroom.
Here is a before picture of our bedroom. I originally painted our peach walls with a dark teal color, but found this made me anxious, edgy and was not conducive to relaxation. We took out the armoires and bridge that was the headboard and moved the armoire pieces into our walk-in closet/sitting area.
I found a color called Milk Pail by Martha Stewart at Sherwin Williams and just fell in love with this color. It is a gray blue color and is so spa-like and relaxing.
I already had the window treatments up and the color worked really well with them. I got the bedding from Home Goods and added some brown in to add some warmth.
Some little touches.
The faux hydrangeas are from Pier 1 and the container they are in is from Home Goods, as is the decorative box.
I believe I got the lamp from JC Penney and the tassel from Tuesday Morning.
I got the fern prints, the mats and bamboo frames from three different vendors on eBay a few years ago. I thought they’d help fill the space over the bed until I find a headboard that I want.
Thanks for visiting my master bedroom and check out some of the other bedrooms over at Debra’s blog!
I really like the new color, very relaxing!

Very nice.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous! That paint color is perfect in there with all your beautiful things. I love the botanicals! I don't think you necessarily have to have a headboard, but I saw an upholstered one yesterday that someone made. It looked so easy and pretty.
ReplyDeleteKathy, what a difference the wall color made! Just beautiful. I love all those colors together, you did a great job. Love, love the botanicals, I'm partial to them too.

ReplyDeleteWhat a soft, soothing room, and I love the wall color!
ReplyDeleteDid you mention the brand/color anywhere on your blog yet, and I didn't see it?
Can you tell me what it is?
I just think it's gorgeous!
And I really love bunnies!
Thank you for coming by my home today and the sweet thoughts you left me!
Blessings to you as you make your home!
Kathy~ they say "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." What they really meant was..."you need to be strong while (the pain) is killing you, lol. Those were my recent thoughts while the podiatrist was injecting my foot with a series of injections for (minor) surgery. I found it ironic A-L-L that pain to feel no pain. Okay, I digress.... All that to say I've been spending many hours recouping in my bedroom.
ReplyDeleteThe whole bedroom transformation makes your room so spacious, such an appealing difference.
This color you chose really pulls the whole look together. I love the touches of espresso in your decorative pillows and throw. I would imagine it's your favorite retreat.
Sweet wishes,
Sara
