Keep Calm and Carry On ~ The Book

My daughter went to Barnes and Noble yesterday and she bought me this cute little Keep Calm and Carry On book.

It’s filled with some great quotes {some are quite funny, too} that are divided up into sections like “Crisis”, “Debt”, “Speculation” and so on.  Some of the quotes I found just thumbing through it are

If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, it’s just possible you haven’t grasped the situation.”  ~ Jean Kerr

The safe way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket.” ~ Frank Hubbard

“It’s almost like seeing a guy show up at the soup kitchen in high hat and tuxedo.  It kind of makes you a little suspicious.”  ~ Congressman Gary Ackerman after Chrysler, Ford and General Motors executives went to Washington to ask for $25 billion dollars in loans – arriving in their private jets.

I also cut some of my hydrangeas this morning.  All of my bushes are blue flowers, but I have two that seem to be debating whether or not to be blue, purple or pink!

Even the butterflies love them!  Can you see it just there on the pink blossom?

This bunch will be packed up and mailed to Florida tomorrow.  Let’s hope they withstand the trip!

  4. Oh I love it! You have tye-died Hydrangeas! LOL! I had that happen one year when I had some pinks that are now only totally blue! I have never gotten the additives right to get them back to pink. But I really love it when you have a mix of shades on hyrdangeas! So pretty! By the way I love that book and I'm borrowing that first quote for my FB status! That's a good one!

  8. Very cute! I love the Rudyard Kipling quote that Jean Kerr spoofs. And I prefer to live by his version too!
Gorgeous flowers. My grandfather used to grow two-toned hydrangeas. And fed rusty nails to his blue ones.

  12. Hi Kathy-
Your hydrangeas look so pretty. Mine are a bit small this year as I didn't fertilize them - too busy. I will make it a priority next year. The home we stayed out while we were down the shore had beautiful lush hydrangeas all over. I took pics and will post them next week. Mine were always pink purple, but one bush is light blue. I prefer the purple ones. I hope the ones you sent to Florida make it. I hope you have a great 4th.
    My best - Diane

  13. I need to get that book. My favorite quote is "Keep Calm and Carry On." I'm trying to burn it into Zoe Bug's brain because she is the Freak Out Queen.
