One of the designations you may have noticed in my profile section is that of Window Fashions Certified Professional Associate. This means that I have taken courses and passed a certification test to be a WFCP Associate. I am also a member of this organization so that I may stay current and up-to-date on new products, as well as skills that deal with business in general.
Besides loving fabric and trim, I do love the window treatments they can be made into. They make a big difference not only to a window, but to the whole room. A roman shade on its own gives one look and drapes with a valance gives an entirely different look and feel to a room. Something new are the Masterpiece Shutters.
They offer a new collection of shutters that are painted or engraved to transform your window into works of art. Imagine having the above shutters to look at as opposed to a parking garage view out of your apartment.
Also new is a vertical drapery system. This item won Product of the Year for Lutron Electronics Co. and is an industry first. How many homeowners with sliding glass doors are going to want this? A lot! I can tell you that sliding glass doors present a major challenge to homeowners regarding coverings.
This innovative product is available in a variety of fabrics and can even be combined with a blackout roller shade for total light blocking. With remote control operation what else could you need?
Finally, I wanted to share this beautiful new trim from Expo International {a to-the-trade company}. This beaded and fabric trim mixed together combines the best of both worlds. I know that I have had clients express that they can’t decide between just one or the other.
Now they don’t have to! This trim comes in a dozen different colors.
I love finding out about all these new products on the market and I especially love it if I have an opportunity to introduce them to a client. It is always a fun and satisfying experience to have a solution to a client’s window treatment needs, yet still make the room a welcoming and comfortable place to be.
Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI certainly feel lucky to get advice from someone with your exquisite taste and decorating experience. The new window treatments are really great. I love the shutters with the artistic views. That's clever.
Having you for a blogging friend is like having my own interior designer giving me oodles of good design advice.
hugs
Sissie
OH those vertical drapes are just what i need ! they are lovely and I even love the valance. I need to add a little height to my doors.
ReplyDeletei have to say Kathy, consulting on a specialist on window coverings is a must. There are so many product options available, a lot of little tricks for optimizing space and creating balance.. and so much measuring you wouldn't want to mess up.
I love the vertical drapery system! It should have been available a long time ago!
ReplyDeleteThe new trims are making my heart go pitter patter!
LuLu♥
I WANT the vertical drapery system. LOL
ReplyDeleteWindows can be challenging, it's so nice to have a designer that knows about all the different window treatments and products !
ReplyDeleteOne of these days we need to replace the blinds we have on our sliding glass door and now I know what I'll be wanting!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week, Kathy!!

Oh WOW! I am amazed at the Vertical system. When I sold blinds I always had a hard time with sliding doors. The customers never wanted Verticals but there were only two options really Verticals or curtains. The Shutters are super neat too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the updates on window coverings.
ReplyDeleteLisa
Wow - those are beautiful!! That vertical drape system is so cool!

Hi Kathy, Loved your sharing, Thanks. I adore trims like the last picture you posted. I heard it said that they are not the "IN" thing any longer. Never seemed to matter to me if I like it that's enough for me. What's your take on this? Have you seen less and less fringed trims?

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting post. I like the treatment for the sliding doors...awesome! I don't have sliding glass doors, but I always thought how hard they would be to cover. I've seen too many treatments for them that I don't care for. But what you showed is really neat.

If I had consulted with a window specialist I would have been told "don't do it yourself!" My Mom always said I never listed to good advice ;-) The tassels are fun!!

ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the impact window treaments make in a room! Change that one thing and WOW!
Thank you for all your sweet comments!
I know what you mean. When custom is not an option I like to head to TJ Maxx! (Or something like it!) Great for inexpensive choices!
