I had started several projects and didn’t finish any of them until the labeled bottles I did a few posts back. These are the guilty projects above. I’ve got about five more to complete and while these are not major time consuming projects, I don’t like having so many uncompleted projects laying around.
My crafty/creative projects are an outlet for me and help to relieve stress from the day job. I look forward to doing these projects, but once you get backed up, it can become a chore if you’re not careful. I also wanted to show off the drape I used on my craft table. This was a drapery panel I found in Goodwill last September and I cut from the bottom and made a large lumbar pillow for my living room sofa. What remained of the panel was just enough to use here on a tension rod.
So one of the projects I had decided to add to the mix came about by accident. I was looking for some file folders in the spare bedroom where I keep some of my business’ office supplies and found plain metal bookends. They weren’t being used and I thought they could do with some fixing up! I used a hot air balloon scrapbook paper and Mod Podge on the side that faces out
and used this blue French writing scrapbook paper on the inside portion of the bookends. I didn’t do the bottom part there because books would just be sitting on that part and no one is going to see it. You could, of course, add to these with a figure or embellishment of some sort that goes with the theme of your paper, that could be glued to the bottom flat piece of the bookends. I’m just leaving mine plain at the moment.
I’m hoping to get a few more projects completed this week, so that I can straighten up and reorganize before I plan more projects. I’m thinking maybe a list of projects would take up less room on my little table than all the projects themselves!

What a great idea for the book ends Kathy! I also like the skirt you made for your craft table. I sure know what you mean about projects becoming a chore if they get back up. I managed to get some of my smaller projects done this weekend.

Hey, Kathy, I'm on a reorganizing roll lately too. Trying really hard to get decluttered & a bit more organized in my office space. Not there yet, but it's getting better.
ReplyDeletePretty bookends!
Very pretty projects Kathy! You always amaze me with your crafty talents.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!! I like to finish one project before I begin another, but that hasn't been the pattern this summer and I have a bit too many lose ends hanging around the house! Oh well...

Hi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThat tableskirt is darlin! I love it, perfect.
I feel your pain when it comes to projects in the making, I have several that need attention.
Your bookends are the cutest. Just think how many of those lonely, boring bookends are hiding out somewhere just waiting to be adorned.
hugs
