Quick and Easy Décor Crafty Project

I needed to get a new candle for my powder room and, as luck would have it, I had a Michael’s coupon that was good for candles this week.  My inspiration for this project came from Sherry at Creations From My Heart.  Sherry creates some beautiful things; please visit her blog if you get a chance.  This is the candle I bought {came with the glass lid}.

I was so happy to see that it had a “peel here” in the bottom right corner of the label.  So, peel I did!

I found some leftover scrapbook paper from another project, grabbed some ribbon that I’ve used before, a decorative button, a glue stick and my glue gun.

I started out by trimming the paper up to the size I needed for the candle and attached that with the glue stick.   I used the glue stick in case the candle actually lasts long enough that I change my mind about what I’ve put on it or for when the candle is done and I want to use the jar for something else.

Next layer was the ribbon.  This is the same ribbon I used on an urn re-re-do that wound up in my powder room with some faux boxwood.  I did use the hot glue to adhere the ribbon, but it is on the paper and not the glass.  This way, again, if I want to remove everything it should come off easily {I know, famous last words}.

Finally, I snipped the back off the button and applied that with hot glue to the ribbon {where the ends meet}.

You can do this with supplies you probably already have on hand.  The cost is minimal.  In my case, I had the paper, the ribbon and the button.  The candle was $3.39 and I saved $1.00 with my coupon, so this whole project cost me $2.39!
