My Venice Text fabric was on backorder for a few weeks, but arrived last week .
I had posted about this screen and the idea of putting the fabric behind it here. I only had two yards at the time and it wasn’t long enough to start, so I had to order more. I needed about 6 1/2 yards for the length, but I only needed half the fabric width to fit each panel of the screen.
You can read the original post about the screen here. I was eager to get started, so I measured out the fabric for each section and cut it with a little bigger than I needed. I used my stapler to attach the fabric to the screen.
Once they were all stapled into place, I trimmed any excess fabric. And, here it is!
I like it!

The screen looks wonderful, Kathy! I made my ruffle runner yesterday! I had to coffee stain the ruffle as they didn't have it in ecru. It's the perfect farmhouse touch for my dining room!

I stand corrected - it looks FABULOUS! I was in the minority saying just leave the screen alone. I'm eating my words now. Love it!

Well, I would say it was certainly worth the wait for the fabric. I really like how it adds a vertical line/some height to the room. It looks great, Kathy!

Hey Gal! I came over from Tracy's blog! I knew your name was familiar! I spied one of the little tags you bought from me on the bird cage! Makes me smile!
ReplyDeleteI love your screen! I would never have thought to use a fabric like that...but it looks great! And really helps carry the eye around the room! You have great style!

ReplyDeleteI like it too, Kathy! I think you were smart to use such a bold graphic print - to make it stand out behind the grids on the panels. It looks fabulous in your living room.
