Thrifty Finds ~ The Restore

Friday I went to our local Habitat Restore with my main objective being to find some kind of wood or a cabinet door to use to mount my rolled canvas.  My thinking is that the cabinet door would already be finished.  Of course, I did not find anything for that project. I did find small pieces; drawer fronts or cabinet door samples.

I picked these up for a project I’ve been wanting to do.  That project is in my Etsy.  Just when I thought I was ready to leave, I saw this.

I thought it was cute and for the price I couldn’t pass it up.  Moving into a smaller space might allow me to use something of this scale.  Since I have a small entry, it might work there.  “Might work” being the key words, because I hope it works!

I don’t care for the glass and it needs some cleaning up.  So I’ll wind up removing the glass and see if I can’t get some Oil Rubbed Bronze before we move to paint this.  I’ll probably leave the glass out.  What drew me to it was the filigree along the bottom.

I thought that was so pretty and, really, for $2.00 and some spray paint I don’t think I could go wrong!

  11. What a sweet light fixture. I know you'll turn it into something adorable! I've told myself that I'm not buying anything else until I've completed the projects I've already got started or need to start! It's not working. It's hard to pass up a bargain like your light fixture.

  14. Hi Kathy,
There's a great habitat store near here that has lots of similar fixtures.....can't wait to see what you do with it. I thought of maybe turning one into an indoor lantern. You can get lots of inspiration from the Pottery Barn site. :) Great finds!

  15. What fortunate finds--the brassy light fixture will look much better in ORB. I can't wait to see what you will do with the headboard in your previous post, that is stunning.

  17. I need time to hunting too!! I Love the Etsy Project that you did, but nothing yet for the Uprint roll? What size is it? Like the rest that fixture is really neat, I think it would look nice hanging in a bathroom once painted or polished up and hanging over a Jacuzzi tub. Just so many things... Have a Great week Kathy!!
