Spring/Summer Look For The Bathroom

I decided to change the bathroom over to a lighter look for Spring and Summer after I found a ruffled shower curtain at TJ Maxx on clearance for $5.00.  Here is what it looked like just last week.

All the stripes went away and I put down this white rug with a gray border that I also picked up.  A solid gray over by the sink, because I already had that one.

I put a white bath towel over the rack, but I still have to go back to Target and get the hand towels I saw there that I liked.  I put the little framed French text print in here on the table I redid because it seemed to fit this look.

A few hot showers and hopefully those wrinkles will fall out {because I’m not ironing a shower curtain}.  I really love that shower curtain!

I think this will provide a nice change for the next few months and then we will go back to the stripes for Fall/Winter.

  6. I think that is such a fun new fresh "French" look - and for so little - how totally frugal!

I laughed out loud about the wrinkles - was thinking the same thing, so funny. I mean come ON, ironing a shower curtain? Maybe if we had a staff to do it, but no way I am gonna either, haha.

I think you are right about the steamy showers - will surely flatten it right out.

LOVE your new curtain! WELL DONE!

  7. This looks nice, Kathy. It really feels light and airy, the shower curtain is pretty and it was a great bargain! Changing up my bathroom is something I have fun with. I have white in there now and I am thinking of something a little bolder for summer.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

    XO,
    Jane

  15. Kathy, what a lovely way to shower and shine for the warmer seasons. Love the colors you've chosen and as always, your special touches, accessories and the like are perfect.
I have a question. Why is it impossible to find lid covers for the toilet? I've been searching for months and finding none at retail and very few online.

  18. Kathy,

Love the lighter look of the bathroom...

OK...wrinkles in your shower curtain are easily taken care of by placing it in the dryer with a damp towel...the damp towel will act somewhat like a steam iron and take out all the wrinkles...

I did that successfully in a all my past homes...In my new house, I do not have any shower curtains..all the baths have separate showers and tubs...so no curtains needed...Give it a try..it works...

  19. Love the new look! I fell in love with that rug when I was at Target, took it home with others from the same color. Sadly they didn't look good at all in my bathroom EXCEPT for that one like you have. Really disappointed me that I couldn't keep it because it wasn't big enough to cover enough floor. I actually thought about buying 4 and spreading them around but, well, that was a bit too many :) Love the new curtain and I'm sure the wrinkles will fall out.

  20. Oh my gosh! $5 for a shower curtain and it's gorgeous...so French. I love the look. I think a few showers will take out the wrinkles, too. Have a great Sunday.
