I’d like to introduce a new sponsor ~ Lapicida Tile! Lapicida is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and here is some background on the company.
The Lapicida story began on 15 September 1984. Jason David Cherrington brought back his first samples of stone floor tiles from a Far East business trip with his father, Mr David Cherrington Senior, a successful roofing merchant. During a time when lino and carpet were the preferred choice for many homes, Jason saw the possibility of a new category – natural stone flooring.
If you have met Jason, you will know that natural stone is his life. He leads the business from the front. Treats his clients and suppliers correctly. Ensures consistently high quality products. This is how the Lapicida tradition started.
With the 2010 Design Awards for Lapicida, the largest natural stone tile showroom in Europe plus openings of the new Lapicida and the dedicated Stone Studio at Lapicida empire continues to go from strength to strength.
The folks at Lapicida have graciously contributed an article that talks about the types of stone tiles you can use. So without further ado ~
Types of Stone Tiles That You Can Use
A lot of people are now rediscovering the beauty of Lapicida for themselves – and it’s pretty easy to see why. After all, these will add a real touch of class to any room, regardless of its overall appearance. And that has certainly got to be good news! I mean, they will blend in perfectly with just about anything; be it a Modernist look, a Boho theme or just a simple traditional style. And in the world of interior decoration, there are precious few floor coverings you can say that about!
And then we have the ‘practicality thing’ to consider too… Not only are these tiles hard wearing, but they also happen to be dead easy to keep clean (which is a very big bonus if you hate doing domestic chores as much as I do!).
But one of the best things of all about using Lapicida in your home is the amount of choice you will have. In fact, you probably won’t believe just how many different shapes, colours and styles there are on offer until you have had a look for yourself! Again, this makes tiling extremely versatile because it will fit in with any colour scheme that you may have. ‘Antique Reclaimed’, ‘Fired Earth’ or ‘Bespoke’ are just a few of the many beautiful styles you will come across whilst browsing through the pages of online suppliers. Then we have mosaic tiles to think about too; and believe me, these will transport you to yet another not-so-small universe of possibilities! And since these will be shaped around a number of different shades, you can really go to town when it comes to tying them in with the existing colours in your home.
You are probably beginning to understand just why natural stone tiles are fast becoming the floor covering of choice amongst today’s more discerning homeowners. And this is simply because they place a bold tick inside every important box on the list. I have already explained how these tiles rock when it comes to practicality and versatility - however, I have saved the best part until last… You see, when you install these gorgeous tiles in your home, you are automatically introducing class, sophistication and quality into your personal living space!Natural tiles have bags more style than any other floor covering so they will give any room a genuine air of distinction!!!
Thank you, Lapicida! I find the antique reclaimed stone tiles interesting and beautiful.

ReplyDeleteI really like those tiles, Kathy. It looks like there is a nice selection of colors. We don't have that tile but another type in the main living area and have been pleased with the easy upkeep. We are dog owners. Need I say more? Good luck to you and Lapicida.--------- Shannon
