Retail Therapy

I felt a little “blah” Friday, so I decided to go out and hit Michaels for a few things I wanted to get.  One thing I want to do is one of those baskets filled with hydrangeas to put on top of my kitchen cabinets.  I found this one and it was on sale for 50% off.

I liked the style and knew I could paint it with the ASCP French Linen I just got recently.  I also picked up some faux hydrangea bushes.  Also on sale 50% off.

I got the blue and white, and while they are not the nicest faux hydrangeas I’ve seen, they were the best buy for the money.  They will do until I can get some real ones planted here and can cut my own.  Although, I might return the blue and go with the purple or pink that I was also drawn to.

On the way home I stopped off at a garage sale.  This is a community garage sale that runs for three days!  The community we moved into has several neighborhoods, of which our condo section is one.  I know a lot of you yard salers would love this ~ a three day yard sale and most within walking distance of each other!   I found this clock at one.  It was $10.00, but it wound up being the only thing I bought so I didn’t mind paying it.

It works, too, which is always a bonus.  I’m not real keen on the purple and green gems so I thought I’d turn it around, since the clock piece comes off that hook on the top.

You can still see them.  Any ideas?  Pop them out and put clear ones in?  Not a total cure for my “blahs” but I was glad I went out.

I’m celebrating my 27th wedding anniversary today and will be spending the day with the hubs, so I’ll catch up with everyone tomorrow and announce the winner of the Cutting Edge Stencils giveaway.

  5. LOVE your clock. Would that be an anniversary clock? I don't think the purple looks too bad at all...and you can always pop them out if they but you too much.

Your little basket is really cute. I hope you have a wonderful anniversary. xo Diana

  15. I think your clock looks great! It is good that you can take them out when you had enough or change the colours, how about clear glass or 'wow' crystals...

  18. Congrats on your anniversary! That's a long time and a real milestone. I love you new clock you found. I haven't been to a garage sale in such a long time. I should really try to get up early and go. Seems like everyone in blogland always finds the best stuff there!
