With the recent heat wave, I mentioned to my hubby that I think we should consider getting a ceiling fan for the living room. It is open to the dining room and with the high ceilings in both areas, I think it would be a smart move. There is a plate in the ceiling for a light fixture, so it would just be a matter of finding one and hubby installing it.
After I mentioned it, he happened to be heading to Home Depot and wanted to know if I wanted him to pick one up. No. No. No. Because this is what he would have come home with.
I went online looking for what I have in my mind and this is what I came up with.
The one above takes two 40 watt bulbs and I don’t know if that would provide enough overhead lighting for the space. Although, I don’t see us using it on a regular basis. The pink is supposed to be “interchangeable”. The next one takes four 40 watt bulbs.
It also comes with a remote, which would be great with the fan/light that high up. I’m kind of leaning toward this one. I think I can get hubby on board if I say the word “remote”. Finally, the third option. I’m loving the scrolly design on this one and the shaped paddles.
These fans range from $225.00 to $345.00 with free shipping. Wish me luck!
Cool fans! I have never seen one with a chandie on it before.
ReplyDeleteI have the second one, I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteI got mine at Lamps plus.
Oh my, love the one with the little chandelier on the bottom. I want it, I want it!

I love your favourite Kathy...picture 2! I didn't know that there are such beautiful ceiling fans available...you found some goregous ones! I laughed so hard when you said that your husband asked if you wanted him to pick one up!! Haha! I wouldn't want my husband to pick up a light fixture either! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteLOL, Kathy ... smart move not letting hubby pick one up, although, I'm sure that you've taught him well!! What pretty fans you've found ... decisions, decisions! I look forward to seeing which one you go with! Hope you're enjoying a wonderful summer. :)
ReplyDeleteOh my the one with the chandelier on it is too cute! I don't think I've seen one like that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ceiling fans Kathy and I LOVE your pick!!!
ReplyDeleteFan have come a long way. They are both so pretty.

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting me!
Oh I love the chandies that you chose... the more blingy the better! Good luck with getting just what you want.
Take care,
Holly
I wrote a longer than usual comment and then forgot to send it..I guess..Ceiling fans are wonderful..couldn't sleep without mine..but..Do you really need a light up there?? Do you have one now?? It will show all the cobwebs up there and probably not provide any beneficial light..I vote for fan only...Think about dusting, changing the light bulbs...
ReplyDeleteI want the fan you want---It is beautiful! How often can you say that about a ceiling fan? Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAll three are beautiful....my favroite is the second one though. Can't wait to see which one you choose :o)

Love #2.
ReplyDeleteOkay, so now I want to replace all our ceiling fans after seeing those pictures. They are wonderful and ours have stopped working after 30 years. Hum, a remote. That might work on my husband too. It must be a guy thing.
ReplyDeleteI am not particularly a "fan of fans" but the one you chose is very nice!!!....I love the chandy look to it as it serves a dual purpose of practicality and "prettiness!
ReplyDeleteGood luck choosing. I think I like #2 the best (at least for myself) Love it, Kathy- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about the "hub's choice". I hear the words, "perfectly serviceable" a lot. Hard choice to make Kathy, I'm liking #2. Can't wait to see what you choose!
ReplyDeleteWhoaaa! Those fans are gorgeous! I will never again have a ceiling fan without a remote! They are just so much easier to deal with with the remote!!
ReplyDeleteJan ♥
Kathy, I'm in love with the chandy fans! I have never seen fans this pretty! I would love to have one of these for my bedroom! Thanks for sharing these!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the middle fan! Like - I seriously want that for my bedroom! Where did you find it? I want to redo our bedroom. I love a chandelier, but my husband loves a fan. And, truthfully, I enjoy sleeping with a fan. I could live without it for the beauty of a chandelier, but this would allow us to both have what we want! Beautiful!
ReplyDeletePretty! I didn't even know that ceiling fans could look so nice.....with chandeliers!
ReplyDeleteLove the fans you picked, can't wait to see which you choose and how it looks up!
ReplyDeletethe remote comment made me smile--so true:) they are all pretty, but the 2 with the chandeliers--so charming!
ReplyDeleteI own the last ceiling fan, and really like it, but it is huge, came in lots do pieces and took forever to be put together. Plus, it's extremely heavy. I've hung ceiling fans in the past, but couldn't do this one, I had to pay someone to do it for me.
ReplyDeleteOnce it was done, I was very pleased with it, but I spent much more than planned.
Smart move not letting the husband pick one up! I like the 2nd one best. We have four ceiling fans in our house and they were all here when we moved in. The remote control is a great option.
ReplyDeleteGood call not letting your hubby pick it out:)
ReplyDeleteThey ceratainly keep the air moving and cool things off but i am not a fan of ceiling fans and if I did install one, I think I would get something classic and not fussy.
I think it’s a really good idea to install a ceiling fan to help circulate the air and control the temperature of the room. So, what ceiling fan did you end up installing? For me, the last one would really look good in your living room.
