I had bought this wine holder a couple of years ago and used it in our old house to hold any overflow bottles that wouldn’t fit on the wine holder we had at the time.
Since we moved we now have this wine holder from Pottery Barn {found at the outlet}. This picture is from the Fall, but you can see it clearly.
I was going to get rid of this little holder, but then I saw how Nelly Vintage Home had made one over by painting it white.
I had a small amount of Pure White chalk paint left over and decided to use it up before it dried out.
I’m hoping I can figure out some way to use it in my own home, otherwise it’s going in my Etsy.
If you’ve got any ideas I’d love to hear them.

That is so pretty and shabbylicious now Kathy!
ReplyDeleteHow fun. I saw one holding towels in a bathroom. It looks great painted white. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletePretty makeover Kathy!
ReplyDeleteI was going to say towels too, but Marty beat me to it. You could also roll magazines in it.
ReplyDeleteOoooh it looks so pretty white! My two cents: I'd paint the inside white too - although I'm sure that might be a pain. I like the idea for towels and magazines too or how Nellie used the scrolled sheet music.

Love that! Perfect for holding papers or rolled up tea towels in the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteVery Clever! Good thinking!
ReplyDeleteI love it in white, Kathy! You are going to find a lot of uses for it. I like the sheet music in your inspiration folder.

Great job Kathy! I have all the same suggestions...towels,magazines, etc. I cannot believe how beautiful it is in white! Wishing you a lovely week! Angie xo
ReplyDeleteWhat a smart idea! You have given your wine holder a new life!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty make-over Kathy! I LOVE it. In the last year or so, I have seen those wine holders at thrift stores and wished I had seen potential in them like that. Now I'll be on the lookout for one. Enjoy your day, Gail
ReplyDeleteAnd to think you were going to trash it...it looks great!!....I am sure you will come up with great ideas to fill the holder...Can you use it to store silverware..say use it on a buffet...You would definitely have to stuff the back portion of it and they are deep spaces...
ReplyDeleteLove it! Beautiful makeover! It would look great with wine it! *lol!
ReplyDeleteI love it painted white! It looks so pretty.

Gosh, I don't think I'll ever look at a wine holder the same again! So cute, and what a great upcycle!
ReplyDeleteKathy, it's soooo much better white. Just love it. What about using it for mail/bills? Yarn? House plans/sketches? Makeup brushes? Kitchen utensils? I'm on a roll! LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt looks so pretty! What a great idea! Congratulations on winning your new header!

i LOVE the white version---is it big enough to be a umbrella stand?
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy! My idea is more decorative than practical but I immediately thought of birds nests with eggs or turning it on its side and using as a planter???
ReplyDeleteCannot go wrong with white anything! Love this piece.
Have fun
sincerely, Jeannette
