Buying Spring

Another day with snow showers and I finally listened to the siren call of the tulips at Kroger’s.   At two bunches for $5.00 I felt it was a good time to buy them.

I got white and the pink/white.  I put them in this white fleur de lis pitcher I had gotten at TJ Maxx a few years ago.

I am hoping they will sustain me until Spring actually does arrive and I get some of my Easter/Spring décor down from the attic.

I think next time I may get some of the roses.  They were looking very pretty, too.

  1. I love tulips all year long, but the pink and white are especially springy. I feel a strong spring fever lurking everywhere on blogland and I think we are all ready for winter to end. That pitcher is beautiful and perfect for your flowers.

  6. I think my tulips are starting to pop up in the yard. Poor things - another storm coming this weekend. Ack! I will be thrilled when winter is over! Only good thing, snow = less bugs for the summer.

  10. Life is too short to NOT have fresh flowers near us all year.

The grocery store floral departments certainly make it frugally possibly, too, don't they?

    Those tulips are gorgeous!

  24. Your tulips are just lovely the way you have them displayed.

Every time I see tulips, I think of this flower bed or red and yellow tulips in our front yard when I was growing up. Mom wanted to take the tulips when we moved, so she dug them all up, then planted them at our new house.

We had like 3 tulips bloom. To this day we laugh because we happened to drive by our old house that spring. That was the best year those tulips bloomed. Too bad we didn't get to enjoy them, but I hope the next owners did.

    Have a great Sunday!
