I’ve been wanting to try making a rag quilt for awhile now, ever since I saw Lisa at Pickles & Cheese array of rag quilts. This is one of hers below.
I decided to start small and make one as a baby gift for friends of ours. This would be crib size. Keeping in mind the theme that was picked for the nursery, I chose these fabrics.
I made sure I bought the proper tools, especially since I’ve never done this before.
They are all cut and ready to be put together with the batting. This is the layout I am going to put together.
I’m going to use the solid blue for the back. The white one actually has a blue polka dot, which is difficult to see in the pictures.
Here are a few others that caught my eye on Pinterest. There are tutorials on Pinterest, too, but I am basically following the tutorial Lisa mentioned on her blog here. I am using cotton fabrics and batting. The tutorial mentioned flannel, which I hope to try next {if this one isn’t a flop!}, and you don’t have to use batting with the flannel.

As you can see, you are only limited by the fabric colors and patterns available, which we all know is endless! Hopefully, I’ll be able to show you the finished quilt I’m making very soon!
Love your fabrics. Can't wait to see it all done. Hugs, Marty
