Friendly Village ~ Piece By Piece

SONY DSC

The day I found the set of dishes for my daughter, at the place where I have my booth space {Lebanon Peddlers Mall}, I also walked past some Friendly Village dishes at another booth on my way to the checkout.  They probably should put a back-up beeper on those carts, because back-up I did!

Sandwich/dessert plates were sitting there with the same covered bridge on the teacups I found and one of the two dinner plates I picked up a few months ago at my local antique mart, so I had to get these.  I will look forward to using these once the cooler weather is back.

My second dinner plate depicts a pretty church scene.  I really love the pattern on these dishes, as well as the scenes in the middle.

I don’t need a lot of pieces of this set, since it is just the two of us now.  I’m enjoying finding the pieces as surprises when I’m out and about, as opposed to actively searching for them.

  4. Isn't it always true that we find things when not looking for them. But if we are specifically looking for them - we can never find them. Pretty pieces for your collection!

  9. When my mother-in-law passed away, I received 12 place settings of Friendly Village. I have been picking up missing pieces when I see them just like you. We start using our FV September 1st switching to Christmas Spode on December 1st and then Currier and Ives blue on February 1st.
