I found this little round table at an estate sale not too long ago. It looks like something that Bombay might have had when they were around.
I was a little concerned that some crackling on the top {it seems to be veneer} would make painting it a nightmare, but I decided to give it a shot. I painted it with CeCe Caldwell’s Vintage White. White and black sell better in my booth than colors, and since I just did a nightstand in black I decided to do this one in the white.
Surprisingly, the crackling didn’t show up through the paint, which I was glad about. I was very careful painting around the front of the little drawer because I really liked the hardware. I used an artist’s brush in that area.
I have this sitting in our guest room until my next trip to the booth and looking at it in here has made me realize this just might be the white I was looking for to do the headboard and armoire.

This table is adorable and reminds me of one that I had inherited from my grandparents MANY, MANY years ago. It was bigger and had a leather inlaid top but eventually didn't fit with anything in my home, so I sold it at a garage sale. I know -- the horror, but it was long before I entered the blog world & knew I could have painted it! Dag nab it!!!
ReplyDeleteSeeing myself curled up in that chair with a good book, and a cup of tea sitting on that cute white table!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, the table is darling next to the chair. Turned out great and love it in white. Perfect little size too.

ReplyDeleteGreat makeover! White and black goes with everything so I can see why those colors would sell well.
ReplyDeleteIn your picture the legs didn't seem to go with the top that kinda looks like it could have been an antique ??
ReplyDeleteWe had a few of these antique tables in our family..Hard to tell from the picture..Have to know the wood..
I love when I find those little tables...Hum, it looks mighty fine right where it is!

ReplyDeleteIt looks so much better now, Kathy. It's great that the crackeling didn't show up through the paint.

ReplyDeleteReally like how this turned out. But then I always like your work!
ReplyDeleteKathy, this is a fantastic makeover! I painted a table with the same design and issues on top too. I really love the transformation! I have been out of town and had a difficult time commenting on blogs from my tablet. It worked on some and not the others. Sorry, I'm late stopping by!
ReplyDeleteLove how your table turned out. Hopefully this will encourage me to paint the table I have that is seriously calling for help! ;)
