I feel like I’m a little late to the Fall decorating party, but I just can’t bring myself to do it when it is still so hot and humid out. With some really nice days recently, I decided it was time to head to the attic and get my Fall and Halloween bins down. Here are some pictures of how I decorated our home for Fall this year.
I found the floral basket on the front door at a yard sale last week. It was perfect timing since I was looking for something for the door.
I used my cut-out cream pumpkin that was an estate sale find a few weeks ago with one of those larger size candle rings and my cake pedestal on our dining table. Something simple and easy enough to slide out of the way when we are eating dinner.
I brought my wood tote back out for the living room coffee table and filled it with some florals that I had taken apart from an urn that had broken when we moved.
I added in a couple of white dollar store pumpkins and this Peter Rabbit book {yard sale find} whose colors seemed to work with it.
Two little white pumpkins are the only additions to my mantel this year.
Some scrap garland leaves are enough to sit them on and say Fall in this area.
Back over near the dining area I put some small pinecones in a teacup with my “Fall” label. I did this last year, too, and I like the simplicity of it. This year I added a metal leaf embellishment that had come on a candle.
On the counter coming into the kitchen, I just filled a tall apothecary jar with more pinecones and a tag that says “Gratitude”.
That’s just enough for me this year. I find I like to keep things simpler the older I get!
I love that you stopped with just subtle touches...and that you didn't over-decorate your mantle...and as for being late to the fall decorating party...I think some blogger really push the seasons trying to be first to get their ideas out there...I for one feel pressured into decorating early just to compete..thanks for showing me that is not necessary!

I like it all, Kathy, especially that little leaf embellishment on your tea cup display...so often it's the little things that add the finishing touch. I'm with you on fall decorating...I'm just now getting into the feeling of fall because I just haven't been ready. We had so many clear and beatiful days in September I wasn't ready to give in to fall. I'm getting there! ~Zuni
