The lovely Maria Elena of Our Home Away From Home invited me to join a fun blog tour. I always enjoy seeing what Maria Elena is up to at her beautiful home in Texas. She always has such great decorating ideas for inside and out.
A big hello from Ohio! Welcome to my home, where I am answering the following four questions.
What are you working on right now?
As of this writing, I am working on cleaning and straightening up my craft/sewing room for the Where Bloggers Create linky party and The Mad Tea Party linky party ~ both coming up on July 12th. I am also working on jello mold pincushions and a lampshade makeover for a lamp in my craft/sewing room. I have been managing to complete projects that aren’t requiring a lot of my time lately, which is suiting me just fine right now.
How does my work differ from others in this genre?
I don’t know that my work differs from many others in this genre. I do try to complete my projects, makeovers, and the decorating I do on a budget, so I am always looking for ways to get the look I want without spending too much.
Why do I write/create what I do?
This goes back to the answer above ~ I write and create what I do because I like to try and save money, yet still try to get the look I want. I had been doing that for years what with being a stay-at-home Mom for 14 years {and before blogs even existed}, and now I am able to share that with others.
How does your writing/creating process work?
Sometimes I’m not sure if a project I am taking on will make for a good blog post, so I will take pictures from beginning to end and decide at that point if I think it will be of interest. If it does, I will draft a post to go with it. Most of the time I do this ahead of time. I like to be able to schedule posts, so I try to stay a week ahead of myself with projects to posts. I very rarely do a post on the spur of the moment.
At this point I am supposed to introduce you to 3 more bloggers.
Cathy from My 1929 Charmer
I live in a small 1929 cottage home. I love to share my many passions of cooking and gardening. Decorating the Charmer is another love of mine, and decorating on a budget doesn’t limit my cottage style in any way. Actually it inspires me to become more creative. I am a lover of color so there are not white walls in our home. My cottage home encompasses a relaxed style and welcoming atmosphere. I am not a perfectionist which to me stifles creativity. Life is meant to be lived not stress over!
Kim from Tidbits & Twine
I started my blog in March of 2013 because I wanted to meet others who, like me, love decorating! I’m a true believer that you should love every item in your home and should never buy something just because it’s the right size or the right color…or even just because it’s the right price! Design isn’t a cookie-cutter process, so your home should tell your story!
Sandy from For The Love Of White
Sandy's blog is all about home and family. She loves to paint furniture, sew, decorate and garden. Sandy is married with 4 kids and many fur-kids. She loves the friendships and inspiration she gets from the people she meets through her blog.
Please visit these bloggers next week when they will continue the tour through blogland!
