Vintage Look Print

SONY DSC

I was inspired by Jennifer at Town and Country Living’s botanic print that she put together and thought I would do a smaller version using a fiber board plaque from the dollar store that I had in with my craft supplies.

The plaque is an odd size 7 1/4 by 9 1/4, so I printed my picture out in 5 x 7 size.  I chose an image that I had saved but am pretty sure I found on Pinterest.  There are so many great images to find on there, as well as from Karen at The Graphics Fairy.

I had some old French dictionary pages that I received in a swap and used those to cover the plaque with Mod Podge.

Some more Mod Podge on the back of the image and I added that to the center.  Done!

I love the sunflower image for this time of year and have added it into my bookcase as Fall décor, although it could stay here year round.

This was a quick and easy project made with things I already had.

Thanks to Jennifer for the inspiration!

  8. LOVE this!! Thanks so much for the shout out, too. The sunflower adds a nice touch of color and I think it's probably easier to Mod Podge the paper onto fiberboard than canvas. Great idea! This makes me want to make more. :)

  9. Hi Kathy, Love your project. It looks great on your book shelves. I just picked up one of those boards with a print from the Dollar Tree too but have not done anything with it yet. Thanks for the inspiration.
    Have a great weekend

  12. Kathy,

I am going to Pin this. I really love the whole idea and I hope I can find everything I need. I have a book of sheet music paper...would that work for the background? It's not very aged looking though, wonder how I could change that. I've never printed anything before. I guess I'm pretty inexperienced all around but I would love to try this!

I think the fairy garden would be fun for "our granddaughters"!! I have a tendency to go overboard with things so I will have to be careful! I've never wanted anything really whimsical in my gardens, I like things a bit natural and rustic, but I guess little ones bring out the child in us! :)

    Thanks for popping in!

  15. Such a cute print, Kathy! This would be a perfect project for me to get down while Olivia naps in the afternoons! I'm really into the sunflower thing right now because of an area rug that I recently bought for my laundry room (I have a post all typed up for my laundry room makeover). Today I finally have a new blog post up about my autumn home decor. I hope you can stop by for a visit! There are a few updated pics of Olivia in that post too. I hope that you and your family are all doing well. I'm sorry I don't visit your blog as often as I used to. I'm sure you understand. Have a wonderful fall Saturday! ~ Jamie
