I have been enjoying the simple pleasures lately ~ sewing baby gifts, hanging out at the pool on humid days, celebrating my granddaughter’s 5th birthday, patiently waiting for granddaughter #2 to arrive {6 more weeks}, doing a little gardening, a little purging, reading a cute mystery series I started but never finished {the Flavia de Luce books by Alan Bradley}, and cutting some hydrangea blooms.
I have not been online much lately {except maybe Pinterest because it’s quick} and I apologize for not having commented on blogs recently, but I feel like I need this time to be disconnected from the internet.
I just can’t let these simple pleasures in life pass me by.
Enjoy, summer is a special time.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to disconnect for a bit. And please let me know how you keep earwigs out of your hydrangea. Every time I cut mine to put in a vase, there are a ton of earwigs. Ewwwwww.

Hi Kathy, such a great decision to take the time for simple pleasures in life that race by all too quick. I will be doing the same in August for a week.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are really enjoying the summer. Happy Birthday to your grand daughter and so looking forward to your next in 6 weeks. Love your hydrangeas. Mine have no blooms yet. Large and green but no flowers. I think they got too much rain this spring.
Enjoy your relaxing time.

I agree, simple pleasures keep us focused and relaxed. Love this post!!!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with you Kathy. We need to take a break every once in awhile. It is good for us to shut things down. Glad you are enjoying summer and the simple things. Have a wonderful week.

I love your Hydrangeas! I completely understand enjoying the simple pleasures in life. Sometimes blogging requires so much time. I'm right there with you, I haven't been able to comment, on blogs, as I would like to. Enjoy your time away and take care!
ReplyDeleteYou are wise to sit back and enjoy time to relax, refresh and re-acquaint with family and friends and your inner self. We should all do more reflecting and enjoying...especially these glorious days of Summer. High on Life July...
ReplyDeleteI've been the same way this summer. Not much blogging. We all need to unwind and refresh every now and then. Love the hydrangeas. I swear I have some in almost every photo shoot these days....:)
