I was inspired to write this post after reading Maria Killam of Colour Me Happy's interview of colour expert, Jane Hall.
From Half Priced Drapes:
From Smith and Noble:
All photos below are from Jane Hall Design. Absolutely gorgeous, aren't they?
What do you think? I think these would be pretty simple to put together if you sew and even if you don't, adding a second fabric to the top of store-bought drapes is fairly easy {or you can just take it to the seamstress/tailor at the dry cleaners and they will attach it for you}.
Friday is the last day to enter my Warehouse Fabrics Inc. Giveaway!
Love, love, love !
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas! Jane Hall's curtains are divine, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI skipped over and read the interview with Jane Hall, great stuff, I can see why you were inspired!
Thanks for sharing!
Linda. :)
Thats exactly what I will have to do. HEad to the cleaners... but thanks for such a great idea!!
ReplyDeleteI am in need of some fresh look at my window.
If you have a moment, stop by and say hi! I would love to have you.
TTFN~~ Claudia ♥ ♥
Love 'em!! I'm so happy I've been procrastinating over redecorating our dining room -- now I know what style of curtains I want :-)
ReplyDeleteThey're all great, but there's something about the very first picture that really appeals to me.
Hey, I can find purple anywhere :-)
Kelly
I love this look, although I must say all of my panels are one fabric! But if I could sew or learn to sew, I think all of that would change :)
ReplyDeleteChelsea
I love the look! I agree that in theory it shouldn't be too hard to replicate.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of drapery ideas Kathy! I especially like the top one with that detail.....hmmmm, they could work in my bedroom. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the inspiration. Sometimes I get so busy with the kids that I keep things so simple and these are lovely. Hmmm. I think I need to visit one of the rooms...
ReplyDeleteI am loving the first and the fourth picture. I tried to create something similar in my dining room just by pinning some premade drapes together and I liked the look. However, I switched to drop cloths for the summer. It reminds me I should put them back up for fall. Something about all that gorgeous fabric makes my heart race!
ReplyDeleteMe too, Tammy!
ReplyDeleteHi Linda! Thanks for coming by and commenting!
Hi Claudia! Thanks for visiting me! I'd love to come by your blog.
From what I've seen of your rooms, Kelly, I think that first picture would suit your home very well!
ReplyDeleteMine are all one fabric, too, Chelsea, but I'd like to mix it up a bit I think. I'll have to see what I can come up with ~ even if it's just to add to what I have up already.
It seems easy enough, Christine. Although, when I've thought that before curse words I didn't even know I knew came out of my mouth!
They kind of make me think of dresses/gowns, Sande. Enjoy your weekend, too!
ReplyDeleteNico Designs ~ Simple and kids seem to go hand in hand, but maybe one room. . .
Beth ~ I'd like to play around with the solid drapes I have our small den just to add some interest to them.
LOVING all this FABULOUS drapery!!! Drapery is SOOOOO IMPORTANT!!!
ReplyDeleteFifi Flowers ~ I love window treatments and fabric, so this is heaven to me!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love this! The first one from Half Priced Drapes is my favorite. Is it a coincidence that the coordinating fabric is chocolate? Not sure... :-) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThese are great drapes! I'd love to have some like this to hang in my home!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of layered fabrics on window panels! Especially with a trim in between. Why I don't have any in my home, I do not know!
ReplyDeleteLoving the detail in these. Thanks for coming by and as far as covering everything, the spraying is not messy, we did not have to cover the walls. It's the pouring of the concrete that you have to be careful with.
ReplyDeleteThat is a pretty one, PK ~ very feminine looking! Love the chocolate brown mixed with other colors.
ReplyDeleteHi Erin! I would love to have some in my home as well!
Well that makes two of us, Tracy! I love it and don't have it either, but I'm thinking about it!
@Room Service ~ Hi! I'm looking forward to your next post on the process!
