I am linking up to Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps on the Porch and also to Frugalicious Fridays over at Finding Fabulous.
Since it is mainly hubby and I for dinner now, I decided to get a few things to set up a table for two. This is a very simple setting, but I got some new stuff and wanted to share it.
I hit Pier 1 first to see what they had on clearance as far as dishes. None of these things are sold as going together, but I liked the way the colors worked together.
These colors work great in my coppery dining room.
I found the glasses and the candles at Kohl's; the candles were on sale and the glasses were on clearance.
Here's that gold little basket I recently painted. The candles are called "Chestnut Souffle" and smell so good! They are tied with a ribbon which has a little metal leaf and crystal attached {you might be able to see it better if you click on the picture}. I also stuck in the wooden acorns I found at Pier 1 {not on sale, but I thought they were cute}.
Candles ~ Kohls: Sale $5.49 each (50% off)
Acorns ~ Pier 1: $14.75 (for 5)
Placemats ~ Pier 1: Sale $9.52 (for 2)
Two-tone Napkins ~ Pier 1: Sale $3.20 (for 2)
Napkin holders ~ Pier 1: Sale $3.20 (for 2)
Charger ~ Pier 1: Clearance $12.38 (for 2)
Dinner plate ~ Pier 1: Clearance $11.86 (for 2)
Salad plate ~ Pier 1: Clearance $7.36 (for 2)
Glasses ~ Kohls: Clearance $7.98 (for 2)
Total: $81.23
Hmmm... Chestnut Souffle. Sounds like it smells yummy! Good job on the tablescape. I like those Pier 1 dishes. Hadn't seen those before. Love the warm, autumn colors.

A lovely table set for two! Fall is here :)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I'm loving those glasses.
ReplyDeleteThe table looks gorgeous! It looks like the plates would work great on other occasions too. Great job pulling everything together.
ReplyDeletei love the acorn accents
ReplyDeleteThanks, PK! They do smell very Fall-y! : )
ReplyDeleteThank you, Maria! I think it's nice to do something a little different even for a week night dinner.
Thanks Tammy! I loved the glasses too when I saw them. I loved them even more when I saw they were on clearance!
Thanks and you're right, Christine. I think I could split the dishes up and use them for other set-ups.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julie! I thought they were cute ~ not on sale, but I bought a few anyway.
Those glasses are fabulous. Who wouldn't like scented candles with autumn in the air? Everything looks so inviting. One lucky hubby!

Kathy your table and decor' are gorgeous! Your dishes are just beautiful with the lovely colors and pretty design. ~Fantastic!
ReplyDelete~Many Blessings, ~Melissa :)
Thank you, Libby! I was almost embarrassed at how happy I was when I found those glasses. Glasses, for pete's sake!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melissa! I don't usually do this much decorating for Fall, but have been so inspired by everyone's blog posts. I do a much better job for my Thanksgiving and Christmas tables.
This is so pretty! I love the coppery colors and the candles in the basket.

What a lovely and romantic tablescape. Love the candle basket!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you layered the patterns at your place settings. Very creative!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks lovely but I am especially loving those little acorns! I'll have to watch for them around here.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and all the colors look so beautiful together. I love it.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! I wanted to try and incorporate it since I had just painted it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kristin! If I had more time I was going to see if I could find a mirror to fit the bottom and then use either tea light candles or votives.
Thanks, Libby! The scent isn't strong either, which is good. I know some people are sensitive to too much scent in candles.
Thanks, Tracy! I thought the layering might add some interest to the table.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet those acorns go on clearance real soon, Beth!
Thank you, Vicky! The colors are a little different for me {in dishes}, but I like it.
Hi Kathy...LOVE your table setting! What is it about acorns...they are soooo cute...we'll except for the 1 million that fall into my front yard each year. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for a wonderful tablescape! Susan
Pretty, love what you've done! The dishes, color scheme, napkins, and glasses are beautiful! However, I must know, where did you find those gorgeous lamps? Love em'!
ReplyDeleteKathy, thank you so much for your kind words on my latest projects, you are so sweet and it means a lot! =)
Hugs & Love,
Liz
Thank you, Susan; and thanks for coming by to visit!
ReplyDeleteHi Liz! Thanks! I got the lamps from JC Penney a couple of years ago. The tassels I added, I believe I got those from Tuesday Morning {they matched so well}.
Beautiful fall tablescape. Love the way you did the napkins. Great blog. So glad you came by!
ReplyDeleteJ~
Thanks, Jessica! Tablescapes are not my forte and I don't usually put any thought into what I'm doing. Susan's Tablescape Thursdays have me putting a little more thought into it.
