A Tablescape Set For Two

I am linking up to Tablescape Thursday over at Between Naps on the Porch and also to Frugalicious Fridays over at Finding Fabulous.

Since it is mainly hubby and I for dinner now, I decided to get a few things to set up a table for two. This is a very simple setting, but I got some new stuff and wanted to share it.

I hit Pier 1 first to see what they had on clearance as far as dishes. None of these things are sold as going together, but I liked the way the colors worked together.

These colors work great in my coppery dining room.

I found the glasses and the candles at Kohl's; the candles were on sale and the glasses were on clearance.

Here's that gold little basket I recently painted. The candles are called "Chestnut Souffle" and smell so good! They are tied with a ribbon which has a little metal leaf and crystal attached {you might be able to see it better if you click on the picture}. I also stuck in the wooden acorns I found at Pier 1 {not on sale, but I thought they were cute}.

Basket ~ redo of existing gold basket: Free
Candles ~ Kohls: Sale $5.49 each (50% off)
Acorns ~ Pier 1: $14.75 (for 5)
Placemats ~ Pier 1: Sale $9.52 (for 2)
Two-tone Napkins ~ Pier 1: Sale $3.20 (for 2)
Napkin holders ~ Pier 1: Sale $3.20 (for 2)
Charger ~ Pier 1: Clearance $12.38 (for 2)
Dinner plate ~ Pier 1: Clearance $11.86 (for 2)
Salad plate ~ Pier 1: Clearance $7.36 (for 2)
Glasses ~ Kohls: Clearance $7.98 (for 2)

Total: $81.23

  1. Hmmm... Chestnut Souffle. Sounds like it smells yummy! Good job on the tablescape. I like those Pier 1 dishes. Hadn't seen those before. Love the warm, autumn colors.

  5. Thanks, PK! They do smell very Fall-y! : )

Thank you, Maria! I think it's nice to do something a little different even for a week night dinner.

Thanks Tammy! I loved the glasses too when I saw them. I loved them even more when I saw they were on clearance!

  6. Thanks and you're right, Christine. I think I could split the dishes up and use them for other set-ups.

Thanks, Julie! I thought they were cute ~ not on sale, but I bought a few anyway.

  9. Thank you, Libby! I was almost embarrassed at how happy I was when I found those glasses. Glasses, for pete's sake!

Thank you, Melissa! I don't usually do this much decorating for Fall, but have been so inspired by everyone's blog posts. I do a much better job for my Thanksgiving and Christmas tables.

  15. Thanks, Jane! I wanted to try and incorporate it since I had just painted it.

Thank you, Kristin! If I had more time I was going to see if I could find a mirror to fit the bottom and then use either tea light candles or votives.

Thanks, Libby! The scent isn't strong either, which is good. I know some people are sensitive to too much scent in candles.

  16. Thanks, Tracy! I thought the layering might add some interest to the table.

I'll bet those acorns go on clearance real soon, Beth!

Thank you, Vicky! The colors are a little different for me {in dishes}, but I like it.

  19. Thank you, Susan; and thanks for coming by to visit!

Hi Liz! Thanks! I got the lamps from JC Penney a couple of years ago. The tassels I added, I believe I got those from Tuesday Morning {they matched so well}.

  21. Thanks, Jessica! Tablescapes are not my forte and I don't usually put any thought into what I'm doing. Susan's Tablescape Thursdays have me putting a little more thought into it.
