Well, it was just a matter of time really. Just from all the crafts I've been doing utilizing black and white scrapbook paper and paint I should have seen this coming. I've been refreshing my living room and have brought in black and white {and burlap, God forbid there's not a touch of that in there too}.
Chair from Pier 1
I found some pictures that I saved for inspiration over the past several months. I've actually posted some of the things I love ~ white slipcovers, black and white diamond or checked floors, harlequin patterns ~ how many of you saw this coming before I even did myself?
My walls are currently a shade of yellow and will be staying yellow {for the next 6 months or so anyway}. I've been taking some pictures as I go along so I will have some "before" and "afters" to show you. We're not talking anything major here, but simple things that I think will make a big difference.

So as I have a "Pardon Our Appearance" sign across my living room for the moment, I hope you enjoy these inspiration pictures.

kathy I have drooled over that black and white chair from Pier One. I am contemplating doing My bedroom in black and white so I can have the chair:)
ReplyDeleteGreat inspiration pictures. I have always loved black and white. Look forward to seeing the changes you make in your room.

These would make anyone want at least one black and white room. Beautiful pics!

Definitely saw this coming and your inspiration photos are lovely. Excited to see the "durings" sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteLoved each and every photo but especially liked that black/white powder room with the harlequin wall paper. I am assuming it's wall paper. What a pain that would be to hand but worth it. Love it!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I really like the chair from Pier 1. I am off to check out their site.

That Pier One chair is so delicious!
ReplyDeleteThese inspirational photos are amazing, so lovely.

A black and white design is classic, just like owning a little black dress...a must have.

I know, Debbie. It's so pretty! I think it's going to come down in price more though. It was $499.00, now it's $399.00, I'm sure by next month it will be even less.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jane! I'm having fun with it and this room needed a bit of a change up.
I think it looks great in a bedroom, Kelly. My mom had a black and white bathroom in her previous house, with a black and white toile that was just beautiful.
Well, thanks, Beth! You could have warned me! : ) I probably will do a "during" post because I want to paint my coffee table black {with the Glidden paint I just got free} and I'm having a slipcover made for my sofa, which probably won't be done and ready until next month. So, I'll do a sneak peek post.
ReplyDeleteI knew you would love that one, Lisa! Harlequin fiends are so predictable! {I know, I'm one of them}!
The great thing about that chair, Chelsea, is that it not only looks pretty, but comfy too! I'd like to check it out in person and sit in it.
It is, Kristin! A little expensive right now, but it is a nice looking chair!
ReplyDeleteThank you,Charo!
You're absolutely right, Cindy! I think black and white makes the color trend list every year.
That top picture is one of my favorites, Maria!
Thanks, Melissa! If I can get it half that nice, I'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks, PK! I'm getting predictable, huh?
Gorgeous inspiration photos, the black and white damask is my fave and will always be a classic in my eyes. I can't wait to see how your room turns out!
ReplyDeleteThe chair is so lovely ! and everything else is just so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love black and white as well. You may like the message board that I posted tonight.

I do love the look of black and white--especially when some toile is thrown in. Great pics! :-)
ReplyDeleteB&W is a favorite of mine. I am trying to incorporate it into my craft room. I especially like the little side table slipcover in the inspiration pics. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlack and white will always be classic - in decorating and in fashion! The is a beautiful simplicity in any room when you use only two colors.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone! It is coming together slowly and I know it won't be totally done until almost Christmas {I will share pics before then though!}. Last night I was futzing with the drapes ~ again. I think I got them the way I like them now. I just keep looking at these pictures to keep me inspired!
ReplyDeleteLove that wonky, Alice in Wonderland-esque curio. So fun!
