I stole put dibs on this tray that came with chocolates from my day job last week. It is a long narrow wood tray that I knew I could probably do something with.
I purposely put it off to the side because with Christmas on the brain, I didn’t want that influencing how I paint or decorate it.
So, I thought I’d throw it out there to see what other people see, as far as dressing it up. Would you put knob feet on it? Scrapbook paper? What color paint? A wood embellishment to cover up the “kron”? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
I am using Live Writer for the first time to see how I like it. So far, so good!
On a side note, Blog of the Week will be back after New Year’s.
You could add feet, a wood decal to cover the name, paint it black, distress it and add some damask paper inside. Then add some glass handles to each side.
ReplyDeleteI would mod-podge tea-stained music on it. You could even use music from Handel's Messiah to make it a Christmas decoration. And I love the idea of some handles or feet!
ReplyDeleteDanielle
definitely feet, handles on ends for easy lifting.
ReplyDeletepaint black, cover with music paper on inside with whatever theme you want with it, or nothing else.
age and sand all.
Now, I only rattled that off to prove i could be decisive about something. always easier with someone elses project! =0))
I know it will be beautiful whatever you do.

It would also be beautiful standing up on its side with the inside a beautiful collage creation.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI just woke up and haven't had my first cup of coffee yet so I'm in no position to give ideas :-)
I like your idea of adding feet and a wood decal to cover the "kron". I'm partial to black so I think it would be great painted black.
It was a good snag from work!

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteGreat box! I like the idea of using Mod Podge and putting pretty paper on the inside.
You left a comment on my blog about already thinking about how you will decorate for Christmas next year. I had to let you know, I am doing the same thing!
I've been hitting the after Christmas clearance sales and planning for next year. FUN!!
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI would leave the word on it. It would be a great conversation piece.
Definately paint it black. I love black - it would then work in any room. I would also modge podge paper inside. I too like Christina's idea of damask, but then again, I am partial to damask.
