I’m up to the part in my living room redo where I want to hang some artwork over the sofa. I have two options and I’m trying to work with what I’ve got. Here is what it looks like currently. I appreciate objective opinions, so I’d like to hear what you think about these two options.
It obviously needs something between the sofa and the decorative grille. Option number 1 is the picture whose frame I repainted black over the Summer. Here is how that looks.
Option number 2 is the canvas panels I did with the outdoor mat. There are three of them and here is how they would look.
Okay, which do you like better? I have in my mind which one I think looks better, but I’d like to hear what others think.
Kathy, This room is already coming together so nicely! I like the canvases because of the size. The art is pretty and I like that it offers color but I think there needs to be a mate with it for proportion and size. Both are good choices! I hope that this helps you!
ReplyDeleteI love the three panels the best. The one small painting seems to be just a little too small. The three panels are just lovely with the grill topper. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the art you did with the outdoor mat (which btw looks great!). It just makes it look a little more happening and it balances nice with your sofa. Enjoy decorating. It'll be fun to see which one you choose.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the canvas panels. The picture seems like it might just be too small for the space above the sofa.
ReplyDeleteI like the 3 panels.. they really add some UMMPH to that wall.. Coming along great~!
ReplyDeleteif you ever want to try something on a wall before you purchase it- email me a pic of the wall and the item and I'll do a mock up for you.. Then you can see the item in place before spending any money.. just saying for future reference.
The three panels provide the right amount of balance. Looking good.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the three panels. The are more in proportion with the width of the sofa and make a better statement in the room.
ReplyDeleteI really love the three panels. They seem to balance out the grill above and the couch below. By the way, I love visiting your blog!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking so good! I like the 3 canvases better. I think they pop more, and that they fill the space better. Just my humble opinion.

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI agree with everybody else...the three panels. Looking forward to see what you decide.
The 3 panels for sure! The single picture is pretty, but it looks lonely in that big space!
ReplyDeleteCount me in with the majority! The canvas trio fills the space much better. The print is verrry pretty, just not in that location.
ReplyDeleteI think it would look better in my house :)
I agree with the other comments above. Definitely the three panels. They make a nice statement. You did a great job on them!

I also vote for the 3 canvas panels. They are so fun and interesting, and very dramatic. I think they bring a very lively feel to the room.
ReplyDeleteI would go with the three panels. They are more in scale with your sofa and add more interest.
ReplyDeletelove the look of the three panels!
ReplyDeletevery classy! :)
My vote is for the 3 panels! It looks so good!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the three panels! But you already knew that ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely those three panels! Those are gorgeous and really make a dominant statement.
ReplyDeleteLove that sofa. It looks so squishy and comfy.
#2!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've got your answer! Another vote for the 3 panels.
ReplyDeletecanvas panels!
ReplyDeleteMost definitely the 3 panels they make the color pop off the walls as well as bring the canvas pictures out. Gives good contrast and balance.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree with the panels as the right fit. I think they will help to ground the smaller items on display beside your sofa, as well. I thought the project with the mats was brilliant when I first saw it, and now you have the perfect place to mount those canvases!
ReplyDeleteOption 2 ... definitely!
ReplyDeleteI like the scale of the panels better for that position on your wall, but prefer the sweetness of the botanical print. Any way to pair the print with a few other pretty items to fill the space a little more?
ReplyDeleteThe canvas panels are fabulous Kathy! :)
ReplyDeleteAnnnd, another vote for the 3 canvas panels ... love how they bounce off of your beautiful white sofa, too !! -Becca
ReplyDeleteThe panels definitely give you the scale you need. Also very dramatic color.

panels. mishelle
ReplyDeleteI answered 2 but without the grill. I love the grill but it is to small for the 3 panels. mishelle
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for the canvas panels -- I tend to prefer larger artwork behind a sofa.
ReplyDeleteI like option 2 the best but feel that the scroll piece needs to be longer also.
ReplyDeleteEither way I think your home is beautiful.
I love, love, love option number 2 kathy! I'm so excited for you...that is going to look fabulous!! Curious, how much did those 3 panels cost? I have to do this project.
ReplyDeleteI love the canvas panels, but I don't think you could go wrong with either one!
ReplyDeleteThis room is looking so good!!
Lou Cinda :)
I vote for the canvas panels.
ReplyDeleteThe three panels...love them! The art picture is beautiful too but I would put that on a smaller piece of wall space.
ReplyDeleteMy '3' cents: Many groupings always look better in 'threes'. Of course the 3 panels. Maybe bring the flourish closer to the panels and raise the panels above the pillows on your sofa? It's all coming together beautifully!

The 3 panals are better scaled for the wall and sofa...it looks wonderful, Kathy! ~Liz
ReplyDeleteThe three black panels! Looks great!!
ReplyDeleteDef. the three panels!
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the panels. The framed pic just seems too small for that space.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely room!
definitely the three panels. The drama and size make so much more of a statement. Do you think the other piece is too small and maybe feels lost?
ReplyDeleteNot sure if I'm too late to vote, but I think the three panels would be great there!
