A trip to the dollar store got me these picture plaques, which I used for this next project. I had seen this antique Easter bunny picture on kmckaydesigns.com and was able to find it online and printed it out. It is so cute I had to find something to do with it and these plaques were it.
I pulled out some scrapbook paper that I already had with colors that would work with the image. I traced around the plaque, cut the paper to fit and glued it on with craft glue.
Once that dried, I centered the image and glued that on top. I had the little letters and pulled out varying patterns to spell out “happy easter” and glued them down each side. A coat of matte Mod Podge over the top and a little ribbon hot glued to the back and it’s a quick Easter decoration.
I used the same idea to do this Moth graphic from The Graphics Fairy, which I posted about at It’s So Very Cheri’s Thursday Tutorial feature today.
I really love the way this turned out! Can’t beat the price either ~ $1.00 for the picture plaque, I had the paper, and the graphic was printed from on-line. The moth project, with the addition of the label holder, was maybe $2.00 {the label holder came in a package of 4}.

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to write a quick comment and let you know I've given you a Sunshine Award on my blog. Not sure if you go in for that type of thing, though someone gave one to me and I thought it only fair to pass it on by acknowledging the blogs who have inspired me. Your blog is perfection and certainly motivated the conception of my own!
Feel free to check out the post on my site. If anything, hopefully it may direct a few new followers your way - though I doubt it because the whole blog world already knows about you, and deservedly so!
Warmest regards
Kristine

Super cute! I'm sooo in love with that bunny print. I have to do something with it. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy, stopping back by to let you know that I found hot glue to be the best method for gluing on the crepe paper around the plastic lids. The Mod Podge was slipping around too much! After the glue cooled, I did secure the paper edges with the MP, just to secure it more. Prepare yourself for burnt fingers! :)
ReplyDeleteBoth are very cute! I like the way you added Happy Easter to the sides of your bespectacled bunny picture. Cute, inexpensive Easter art. Perfect! :-)
