It always amazes me what a little bit of paint and some scrapbook paper can do. This was the tiered basket I bought at Home Goods in silver.
It kind of disappeared into the background in its original color, so I painted it Heirloom White. I like it much better!
The little tray I bought at Goodwill was a light yellow color and had this beach scene. It would have been okay as is, except that I didn’t really care for the scene.
Here it is also in Heirloom White and with a red and white sea creature-y scrapbook paper. I really like this paper and it is a departure from my usual, but I thought it worked well here.
The oblong shaped tin I got at Goodwill, that had a Fall motif to it.
Papered up, monogrammed {from the napkins I bought at Home Goods}, and a few little buttons. It is pictured here with two sauce cans from the recycling that have also been given a scrapbook paper and ribbon makeover.
I love how quickly I was able to update these items with a little bit of paint and paper. Now I have decorative accessories that work for me! I’m still working on the pair of interesting looking mirror/shelf pieces and hope to have them ready next week.

I especially like that that tray done in white with that red paper. Love that paper. Nicely done! I can usually always find a tray at GW. All the trays I have done have been black and white....I need to get away and try something more colorful like you did here!
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with your great GW finds!!
ReplyDeleteThat tray is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteKathy girl, you have the majic touch! I love what you have done with the tiered metal tray, the wooden tray and the tin container. All are very pretty.

Wonderful transformations. Love your choices of paper!!
ReplyDeleteFab makeovers. Years ago I used to cover coffee cans with wrapping paper and filled them with home baked cookies and give them away as Christmas gifts. I had forgotten all about that until I started blogging.
ReplyDeleteMy latest makeover was a bit challenging for me . . . not that difficult but I won't be reupholstering anything major EVER!

This is cute...thanks for stopping by my blog. I had an interior decorating business for years when my children were younger...I specialized in curtains, which I designed and made myself. So I am excited about looking around your blog and gleaning some ideas,
ReplyDeleteJanette
L O V E that little white tray with the scrapbook paper in it. Did you add some sealant on the top? Very attractive in deed!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteYour tray is awesome! I love decoupaging, too. I think I am addicted to Mod Podge :) I really love your tiered wire stand. The Heirloom white really makes it pop! I seem to use H.W. on just about everything, too! Love your tin makeovers as well. Great redos!

ReplyDeleteHi Kathy-
ReplyDeleteAll the delicious colors you used (Is this your desk?) are so inspiring to me. I bet with all the paint and paper tweaks you are now freshly inspired when working there as well. The tray make-over just shows what a liitle vison, work, and color can do.
My best - Diane
