I Just Went In For A Lampshade . . .

I don’t understand what happened.  I searched for Walmart, found it.  Went in specifically to get the script lampshade.  Found it ~ $7.67 for the last one on the shelf!  When I walked out of there, I had spent over $100.00!  I don’t know what happened!

I think what happened was I started seeing things that I had on the dozens of lists I keep in my purse.  {That or my mind went numb because they were playing Christmas music on November 2nd}.  First up, the dual control heated blanket.  Because I’m freezing, then I’m warm during the night, then I’m freezing when I wake up.  This will keep us from fighting over something other than whether it’s “snoring” or “breathing loud”.

The little digital clock my hubby asked for, so that he can check his time in the bathroom while he’s getting ready, without disturbing me in the morning.  He’s very thoughtful, even if he does “breathe loud”.

Decorative glass bottles.  With the stopper. I thought these were a great price at $3.97 for the large {olive oil} and $2.97 for the smaller one {vegetable oil}.  I’m using these in my kitchen tray.

Oh, and I finally found some reasonably priced, clear, plastic storage drawers that I can use in my craft room.   I only got four, but it’s a start.

I have been putting this room off until last, but I am going to want to get in here soon and be able to actually move around in it.  Once I get the bins emptied and those pictures out of here, it should be much better.

So beware.  You may think you’re going in for a lampshade, but you may come out with more than you bargained for!

  2. Kathy, I went in for a two bottles of propane for my portable outdoor heater this afternoon and came out with $100.03 worth of "stuff." What is it about Wally World that makes me want to spend the bucks there? LOL
I like that shade. Maybe I should go to "my" store and see if there's one there! :-) Sue

  8. Of course, that's normal! I've told my DH to "quit breathing!" during the night. Those lampshades are really cute, I didn't know Wally World had them. Oh, and I'm glad you got the oil containers, they're so much prettier.

  9. Those are cute lampshades. Luckily for me Walmart is a bit of a hike so I don't get caught there too often, but I know exactly how it all adds up!

  10. I went to my local Walmart to find that shade and at my store it was a drum style shade instead....so I left without spending a penny..I had blinders on.

  12. I really like the shades! I read Sonny's post...I think she bought her store out!!

I need a silverware tray for my drawer and Target has a beautiful wood one that I bought for the lake. Believe it or not...I am hesitating going because I always overspend there. That sounds crazy but it's the truth!!

  14. Okay, I want that shade. I was at Wal-Mart just last night buying last minute stuff for a slumber party (I'm still waiting for them to go to sleep....) and I would have bought at least one of those shades had I seen them! You can't step into any store these days without spending a bundle. At least you got some real bargains!

  16. Oh Kathy, that happens all the time. It's easy to do in stores like Walmart. I was telling the grocery cashier just yesterday I so wished I could just stick to my list. Oh well . . .

BTW, love the shade ;o) And, not fair, you paid less for yours at you Walmart than I did at mine. Mine was $9.99.

  17. I saw this one too, Kathy! Our Walmart had it in two sizes, large and small. It is great! I have been in your shoes. I can't get out of Target or Walmart without spending a $100! Crazy, I know! I do love your script shade!

Since you moved away the Tablescaper and I have had to make up the loss at CTS. Between us it was 500!

  19. Oh Kathy, this is funny but I think we all do that...I KNOW I do. My mind gets off course and usually what happens is just before I checkout, I checkout my basket and ask myself "hmm, what are you going to pull out and NOT get"?

Wow, I didn't know Walmart had those shades...they're so cute!

  21. Kathy, I'm going tomorrow to see if our WalMart has the little lampshades, too. Hubby has gotten to where he "tails me" to keep an eye on what I'm throwing into my cart! :0)

    Happy PS!

  22. Oh, my, you just had all kinds of things hopping in your cart. You sound like me with the hot and cold. I thought it would get better after menopause, but I think it is getting worse. Love that lamp shade.

I really don't like walmart and only go there if I absolutely have to, like if Target is closed. hahaha
