Who Times Two

Yes, yes, the “who” thing is getting tiring, but hey ~ they’re owls.  It’s gotta be done.   I posted about getting these owls for the great price of $15.00.

They are quite big {about 19-20 inches tall} and quite heavy.  I envisioned them with an Anthropology type look, even though Anthropology doesn’t seem to have anything like what I transformed them into. Here they are!

Simply done with a spray of good old white gloss paint!  Well, actually four coats of good old white gloss paint.

They are ready to make their new home at my daughter’s house, but I couldn’t resist making up a vignette or two with them before they go.

  2. Hi Kathy,
Love those owls painted up white.
I know what you mean about four coats of paint. Sometimes these small items with lots of little crevices take quite a bit of paint. I always seem to miss a spot or two so now I give them an extra coat whether they need it or not.

Love how you have used them in your vingettes.

  27. These remind me of some brass owl bookends we had when I was growing up. Yours are a different style, but look similar to ours, which may still be in the attic for all I know. You know how attics are, I'm sure.

You've made your modern with the paint and how you've decorated with them. Love the owl on top of the stacked books.

Thank you for continuing to add your great posts such as this one to the Your Cozy Home Party. I always like seeing what new projects you're doing.
