No Slackers Allowed

If you’ve been following along since we moved from New York to Ohio, you know that I managed to get what was labeled a storage room to be my sewing and craft room.  I still need one or two small things to be fully organized in here, but I am functioning!

It’s not a lot of space and I have to share with the mechanicals, but I used a screen I had to hide them.  It has come to my attention that the screen needs to take on more job responsibility than just hiding the mechanical equipment.

This is prime space here! I need to put this to good use.   I realized this would probably be a good area to hold all the tags I’m making for my Etsy {and as Thank You goodies}.  I bought some plastic bags and used some clothes pins I had to hold my assortment of tags.

Pay no attention to that mess! I am in the middle of a sewing project AND I still need to get some kind of small bookcase for that back wall to hold all that stuff you see on the floor.

A plus is that, when a set is ordered, they are all ready to go and I just need to unclip them from the screen!

  6. It must be nice to have everything all together in one room and well organized. I'm afraid my "stuff" is spread all over the house. A little here, a little there...maybe one day I'll get it together. I love that screen!

  10. What a good use of space, Kathy. The screen is the perfect piece for both hiding the equipment and a display. I'm currently (like I should be right now, instead of on the comp.) dejunking my sewing area. I share it with the laundry.

  15. Looks like you have really gotten organized. It really helps, doesn't it. I just recently added a large table to my sewing "area." That chair of mine....I found at an antique mall and paid waaayy too much for it. I just couldn't help myself. Thank goodness my vision paid off!

  16. Once we turned an extra 5 X 7 closet into an office. Just a suggestion though. Since your sewing room does hold the hot water heater, make sure NOTHING sits directly on the floor that you don't want ruined if the bottom lets out. I have had one do that before. NO warning, just all of a sudden squishy carpet. Make sure your surge protector isn't on the floor either, just in case.
