My craft/sewing room is a disaster area! It looks like a whirlwind came through here ~ and that whirlwind is me!
One good thing about this mess is that I am getting a lot of things done for my Etsy and I think I’m on the right track. I had three sales in a weeks time, which, given my prior sales record, is fantastic to me.
I’ve been ordering some supplies from fellow Etsy sellers, like this beautiful ruffle ribbon for my totes. I did manage to make some headway in here by utilizing skirt hangers for the totes and aprons.
I also hung up the tea towel sets so everything is neat and ready to go.
I’m finding that I really need the small bookcase I’ve been hoping to find to get these other things off the floor and organize some of my other Etsy items. I’m going to have to start looking more aggressively.
My hope is that I’ll have this room running like a well-oiled machine by June, when Karen at My Desert Cottage usually hosts the Where Bloggers Create linky party. In fact, I will be using that deadline to get myself into gear. For now, I have to go move some of that ribbon and other finery so that I can access my sewing machine!

Hi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteYep, but it's a beautiful mess!!!
hugs

Oh- I have a mess, too. I moved my craft area from one side of the basement to another and it looks like a bomb has gone off in there...even it is a "pretty bomb". Let's both hope we can get it all pulled together soon! xo Diaan
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, you really are creating a ton of gorgeous things. How fun. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteAs hard as I try, my creative space does not stay mess free for long!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteIt is a creative mess of someone busy at creating. I bet you know exactly where everything is...
Love the added storage of hanging up your totes and towels for sale.
All the Best,
Christine
It's a creative mess which is different than a regular mess. It's all good.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy to stay organized when it comes to crafts. I've been using plastic containers. I work off my kitchen table most of the time. I have things all over the house in closets. My husband is helping me make an area in our basement to store my goodies/crafts.

I'm constantly re-organizing and cleaning my studio. It's an uphill battle. Your space looks positively clutter free compared to mine. lol
ReplyDeleteI think behind the mess is the work of a genius! You have great organizational ideas, Kathy...everything will have a place of it's own soon!
ReplyDeleteXO,
Jane
Wishing you the best!
ReplyDeleteEye balling some of those beautiful reations of yours - wh at a talented gal!
Don't be TOO hard on yourself.
You don't see ME showing YOU my creative spaces - oh my word you would scream and run away in sheer terror.
Your on a roll!

It is good to see that I'm not alone with a messy room.
ReplyDeleteWhen your really into creating and having fun, who cares if the room is upside down.
Hugs,
Angela.
I do it too, throw stuff everywhere when I'm creating. But I don't have a craft room, so my mess is in our dining room :( Enjoy your creativity!

creative, organized chaos -- is good!

Oh, I am seeing a lot of potential here! I think June is a great deadline, keep us posted!!
ReplyDeleteCarol
You go girl...Looks like a very well oiled production area you got there....Have fun with it all!
ReplyDeleteIt looks more organized them mine does - ha! Seems like you have a good system going though.
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Looks like you were messy for a good reason. I spent most of the day sorting through my craft supplies and trying to clean up my space. We don't have enough rooms in the house for me to have a real craft room, so I use our loft area for my crafts. Since that can be seen, I need to work on getting that area somewhat presentable.
ReplyDeleteHave fun creating!
Hi Kathy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a beautiful mess to me too *winks* I love all the beautiful ribbon detailing! Vanna
My workspace is a disaster zone right now so I know your pain! What a great idea to use the link party as a deadline. I really need to go check out your etsy shop next. Good luck with the bookcase search!
ReplyDeleteI have decided that if it isn't a mess...no creative juices are flowing...at least for my etsy store it seems to be....

At least you have a craft room. Cute totes and towels and congrats on the sales.
ReplyDeleteAny time I create anything I have a disaster! Heck, my entire house is a complete disaster these days!!! Can you say "must hire a housekeeper?" You'll get this room organized soon. We just have to find you that bookcase! LOL I love my tote, BTW! Cracked me up that M asked me where I was going to hang it! Men.....
ReplyDeleteI can see that is a room that gets alot of use! It's nice, though, to have a room of your own to work in so you don't have to clean up after every single project. At least you can just close the door when you're done! Ha!
ReplyDeleteSweet Kathy, it's not a disaster..it's genius creativity at work!
ReplyDeleteYou are an awesome talent my friend!
God bless ya and have yourself a fantastic weekend!
Woohoo on the great sales!!!
I bet your craft room will look wonderful by then Kathy!
ReplyDeleteYay for the sales! I think all your items are just beautiful so this is just the beginning for you. A messy space shows that someone's creating (at least that's what I tell myself) :)
ReplyDeletejust love seeing your work area. always a treat to see where a fellow artist creates!
