Whirlwind In The Craft Room

My craft/sewing room is a disaster area!  It looks like a whirlwind came through here ~ and that whirlwind is me!

One good thing about this mess is that I am getting a lot of things done for my Etsy and I think I’m on the right track.  I had three sales in a weeks time, which, given my prior sales record, is fantastic to me.

I’ve been ordering some supplies from fellow Etsy sellers, like this beautiful ruffle ribbon for my totes.  I did manage to make some headway in here by utilizing skirt hangers for the totes and aprons.

I also hung up the tea towel sets so everything is neat and ready to go.

I’m finding that I really need the small bookcase I’ve been hoping to find to get these other things off the floor and organize some of my other Etsy items.  I’m going to have to start looking more aggressively.

My hope is that I’ll have this room running like a well-oiled machine by June, when Karen at My Desert Cottage usually hosts the Where Bloggers Create linky party.  In fact, I will be using that deadline to get myself into gear.   For now, I have to go move some of that ribbon and other finery so that I can access my sewing machine!

  2. Oh- I have a mess, too. I moved my craft area from one side of the basement to another and it looks like a bomb has gone off in there...even it is a "pretty bomb". Let's both hope we can get it all pulled together soon! xo Diaan

  5. Hi Kathy,
It is a creative mess of someone busy at creating. I bet you know exactly where everything is...

  7. Hi Kathy,

It's not easy to stay organized when it comes to crafts. I've been using plastic containers. I work off my kitchen table most of the time. I have things all over the house in closets. My husband is helping me make an area in our basement to store my goodies/crafts.

  8. I'm constantly re-organizing and cleaning my studio. It's an uphill battle. Your space looks positively clutter free compared to mine. lol

  12. I do it too, throw stuff everywhere when I'm creating. But I don't have a craft room, so my mess is in our dining room :( Enjoy your creativity!

  17. Looks like you were messy for a good reason. I spent most of the day sorting through my craft supplies and trying to clean up my space. We don't have enough rooms in the house for me to have a real craft room, so I use our loft area for my crafts. Since that can be seen, I need to work on getting that area somewhat presentable.

    Have fun creating!

  22. Any time I create anything I have a disaster! Heck, my entire house is a complete disaster these days!!! Can you say "must hire a housekeeper?" You'll get this room organized soon. We just have to find you that bookcase! LOL I love my tote, BTW! Cracked me up that M asked me where I was going to hang it! Men.....

  23. I can see that is a room that gets alot of use! It's nice, though, to have a room of your own to work in so you don't have to clean up after every single project. At least you can just close the door when you're done! Ha!

  26. Yay for the sales! I think all your items are just beautiful so this is just the beginning for you. A messy space shows that someone's creating (at least that's what I tell myself) :)
