It took me a little longer than I would have liked since I had to paint in between cleaning for my son’s visit, but it’s done! If you remember I had gotten this red tote just before Christmas last year.
And it worked great! I loved how my Christmas décor looked in it.
Come Valentine’s Day, I still loved it as I filled it with the hearts I made for my Etsy shop.
Then ~ nothing. I didn’t like any ideas I was coming up with and it finally dawned on me that it was because it was red. So, what do you do? You paint it!
I painted it with the white chalk paint I mixed up and applied some clear and dark wax. I am so mad at myself, because I wanted to show you a picture of it just white, before the waxes, but I was so happy it was finally dry and ready for wax that I just went at it.
Much better! I’m much happier!
Maybe I can find a little red one at the antique mart to use at Christmas again {because I really did love it then} or ask hubby to put something together for me. I think this piece is a lot more versatile now and I will be able to decorate it a lot easier, too!
