I did have my chalkboard {found for free in another office’s garbage a couple of years ago} in our laundry room, but after the new paint job, and to try and compromise with hubby, I agreed to not rehang it there.
I really love it for the chalkboard and the size, but we have limited wall space in the condo. I had it in our kitchen in our old house, so I decided to try to work it into the kitchen here in the new place.
Trying to take advantage of that high space over the kitchen cabinets, I made up a “unique” menu and put it up there. I feel like the frame should be painted. What do you think? I still have French Linen chalk paint and I’m considering that.
The spots {on the chalkboard} to the right were where I had a sign when it hung the other way in my old kitchen. When I removed the sign it removed some of the chalkboard. I am thinking a couple of wood embellishments might take care of that and give it a pretty look.

ReplyDeleteYou found a perfect spot for it.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you found a new home for the chalkboard ... not sure what to think about painting it white - my first thought is, of course, to paint it but it kind of goes with the items around it which are black.
ReplyDeleteLove the menu, I'll be right over!!! Hugs ~ Mary
Hey Gal! It looks great up there! I have a little bistro look chalkboard up on my kitchen shelves!! Great minds! Mine only says Bon Appetit.
ReplyDeleteHope you're having a lovely week. The weddings are over, and now I'm working on getting my home back in order, and picking out paint for my new studio! I am so excited!!

Hi Kathy, it looks wonderful. I think it would look great painted. I recently found one that I loved but didn't purchase it now I'm just hoping that it will be there when I go back.

It looks great in it's new location!!! I've been doing that a lot lately, moving things around, have to make room for all the things I've been buying, LOL

Such sweet sentiments on your chalkboard!
ReplyDeleteKathy, I really like your chalkboard! It looks good up in that spot with your other pretty things. Personally I would paint it the French Linen color. It's a really pretty wood color if you don't though. :) ~ Jamie
ReplyDeleteLooks GREAT up there, Kathy!!
ReplyDeleteHey Kathy...looks wonderful up there....I wish I had one in my kitchen...I have literally no wall space...it is just one big open space....Maybe I will need to settle for a teeny one! Love yours!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathy,
ReplyDeleteI like how you've added cute "menu" items that don't need to be changed regularly--a good strategy for the new chalkboard location. I think painting the frame would really make it pop. And if you decide not to add embellishments to cover the place where the chalkboard paint came off, you can always try my favorite lazy trick: disguise with a Sharpie marker...or my second-favorite trick--dab with a little black craft paint.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to say hello!
