Wednesday evening after dinner my husband called out to me, to hurry and come and see something. I thought it was something on television, so imagine my surprise when he pointed out the window and I saw this.
I have never seen a hot air balloon in person before and felt like my two-year-old granddaughter when she sees a plane ~ “Wow” was all I could think!
I could hear them doing the gas jets from where I was standing taking the pictures. It was moving pretty quick.
I was quite happy to just take pictures of it. Actually riding in one of these is not for someone like me, who is afraid of heights!
Oh they really are so fabulous to see. We have festivals here and you look up and see dozens of them in the air at one time. Unreal. They use to fly over our old house all the time, and I never got tired of looking at them. Such a sight. Great pictures. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! You got some great shots of it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've got the height phobia too.

There used to be one that flew over our house every evening...I don't know what happened to it..Maybe he's the same guy that flies over in an Ultralight now???
ReplyDeleteThe pictures are fantastic. Love them. In NJ, we used to have hot air balloons fly around the Middle to South section of NJ. I saw it once and it was beautiful there was about 4 or 5.

Very cool! I've been to a couple of hot air balloon festivals and they're so fun to watch. I wouldn't mind going up in one, but I'm sure I'd be nervous.
ReplyDeleteThose are fun to see in person. I have seen several around here in the past. They used to start at a small local airport once a year. There would be several in the sky and it was a beautiful sight. Lot of the balloons were such brilliant colors against the sky.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a sight! We saw hot air balloons once at Callaway Gardens near Warm springs, GA. Beautiful! Also, love the French letter holder in the previous post...I may have to copy that! Linda
ReplyDeleteHow cool!! I went to the Hot Air Balloon races in New Mexico one time, what a site to see, and FUN too!!!!
ReplyDeleteLast year we went to New Mexico to the Balloon Festival and it was just fantastic. To see hundreds and hundreds all in the air at one time was just amazing. I love the ease at which they soar thru the sky. But, I'm definitely watching the beautiful things from the ground.

I think it would be great fun to go up in a balloon!
ReplyDeleteNice letter holder makeover! I just love spray paint!

That's very cool, Kathy. I have never seen one up close either. I'm sure you were very excited. I certainly would be.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely surprise! It's a gorgeous balloon! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteI rode on one once at Boone Hall Plantation in S.C. when I was a teen. It was a Woodstock like concert and there were naked people running around. Way to wild for a 13 year old. But I fondly remember the balloon ride.
ReplyDeleteI went to the Hot Air Balloon festival in Albuquerque once. It was amazing standing among all those balloons taking off!
ReplyDeleteOh, how cool. Nice photos too.
ReplyDeleteThey are so exciting to see, they always make me feel like an excited little kid! You got some really great shots.
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I took the boys to the Cradle of Aviation museum over the summer and S was fascinated with the hot air balloons!

Beautiful balloon Kathy. You got some great shots. I know that all I would have been able to say is Wow!
ReplyDeleteThat would be so cool to see over your own house! I saw some lifting off the morning we left Albuquerque, NM but have always thought it would be fun to ride one over a vineyard or someplace cool like that.

So cool!!
ReplyDeleteWait until you see a festival with bunches and bunches. They are amazing. I saw a festival on the way back to NE Ohio from Columbus. You could always visit Lake County in Early June. There is a festival at one of our local wineries every year.
