If you remember, I found this piece that looked like it came from some piece of bedroom furniture at the local antique mart.
I loved the size, shape and that embellishment piece in the middle. To get started I painted it French Linen chalk paint. These pictures make it look pretty light, but in person it is not such a light grey.
I wanted to highlight some of the details so I dry brushed on some Old White. The grey below is truer in these pictures.
Then I did clear and dark waxes.
I’m really so pleased with the way it turned out. I wish I had some place to put it here in my home!
I think this would look great over a bed, over a doorway, capping off a gallery wall, on a vent hood {over your oven}; so many different places you could use something like this.
Question ~ should I add D rings to the back for hanging or just leave it as it is {with nothing}?
I’m going to price this at $30.00 for the Holiday Market.

I always use D rings, then if they don't want to use the rings, they can lean it against something. I think it's beautiful, Cathy. I love pretty things over the bed and over doorways too.
ReplyDeleteI love it and it would certainly be perfect in many areas as an accent piece..
ReplyDeleteyou've made another beauty~!
Hi Kathy! What a beautiful piece! I think the D rings would be a great idea..some people don't want to do anything more when they buy something. It won't last~~~so many options for it! from one sweetie to another~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT Kathy! That will sell in a flash!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely piece, Kathy. Your choice of colors certainly enhanced the piece and made the details shine! French Linen is one of my favorite colors! I know this piece will sell; it's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty--you should add the d-rings-they can't hurt!
ReplyDeleteD rings sound like a great idea...and your price is incredible. I'm sure it will sell in a heart beat!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous piece. I love the detail and you did such a great job of distressing it. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteIt looks gorgeous in gray! I would add the rings to the back to make it easier for whoever buys it to hang it up immediately!
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Great job, I loved this piece when you got it but now it's spectacular. Love the color.

Love it, Kathy! Super GREAT transformation and your price is fabulous, too!
ReplyDeleteThe tags I used for my Blessings Banner were Halloween tags with bones and BOO on them. They were black and tooo spooky for me. They were $4.99 for the nine tags and they were strung together on cheap black cord. Still...great find for the $.
Thank you for visiting today...you inspire MOI!
Love, Rebecca
What a great job..I thought you were going to keep it for your house!! I would hide the rings..
ReplyDeleteI love the paint treatment! Definitely put the d-rings on it. I ordered a big pkg on Amazon, about a tenth the price of local stores.
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty and you did a wonderful job sprucing her up. It will sell fast! Thank you for sharing this at my Make it Pretty Monday party at The Dedicated House. Hope to see your prettiness again next Monday. Toodles, Kathryn @TheDedicatedHouse

Cathy
Kathy,
ReplyDeleteWonderful piece and great price too.
Blessings,
Linda
Kathy, I love that piece! My thoughts, I think 30 is a fair price, but whenever I am going to price something at 30, I price it at 28 or 29, I think psychologically people think it is a better deal, the same with $40, I price at $38- $39. I would put hangers on it, people are not good at visualizing a pieces purpose...You are going to have one fabulous sale, everything you have prepared is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Kathy, The piece looks pretty in gray and I bet it sells quickly.
ReplyDeleteIt was beautiful to start with, you made it fabulous! I would go ahead and put the rings on, then the buyer can hang it immediately. Hard to believe, but there are people out there who would think it was too much work for them to do it themselves!
ReplyDeleteAnother fabulous make-over Kathy! You should have no problem selling this piece. You have done a lot of beautiful makeovers for the Holiday Market showing. Enjoy your day, Gail
