Table Skirts For The Master Bedroom

Thanks to a post by Vanessa from At The Picket Fence, I found a way to change up the look of the side tables in our master bedroom without having to employ paint.  Doubly exciting ~ I don’t even need to use my sewing machine!  Vanessa whipped up this great table skirt using drop cloth and some trim {glued on with fabric glue}.

All I needed was the drop cloth and one more glass round for the top.  Here are the side tables in question.

I like them, but I’m looking for a change.  I got these tables from Bombay {when they were still around} at one of their $49.00 table sales.   The table skirts will help hide those cords, too!

I got the drop cloth from Lowe’s and washed it ~ twice to soften it up and preshrink it.  I got the trim from Hobby Lobby using my 40% off coupon.  I had an old table skirt up in the attic and used that to measure for size, although it was a bit bigger and I tried to take that into account when I was cutting.  I just laid it on top of the drop cloth and used it as a template.

Once that was done, I used hot glue to glue the trim on all around the hem.

Only one table is truly finished since I need to get another round glass top, but you can get an idea of how it looks. 

The glass top will also make it easier to clean these table tops.

Love the new look and love that it cost me very little to make this change!
